My goodness, his voice is so good. I always loved his performance on the video anyway, this is just something else. I met him once while doing front of house at the Drury Lane when Witches of Eastwick opened, he was resident choreographer and just came up and said hi, who he was, and that it was as all mad, as he was going past. Lovely guy.

Thank you very much for this video! It was very interesting to hear Geoff's real voice and see another performance by him. He is really good as Skimbleshanks.

he was a great skimbleshanks why he hasnt this voice in the video?
@chrissi28107 жыл бұрын
I think they wanted to have someone with a Scottish accent so he was dubbed.

mortifer | chrissi2810 ach so ich hab bei dem im Video noch keinen Akzent bemerkt. Was hältst du eigentlich vom Film?
@chrissi28107 жыл бұрын

What gave them the idea to dub him for the 1998 Movie? It doesn’t quite make sense to me when you have a performer who can obviously sing very well and have years of experience doing the role…
@chrissi2810 Жыл бұрын
Probably not the voice they were looking for. I heard it was about having someone sing it who had an authentic Scottish accent.

Geoffrey's voice is not bad but I like Skimble's voice ( I don't remember the name of the actor) in the 1998 movie better

Apparently the dancer is still Garratt, but they dubbed him. Though I haven't found any mention of the dubbing other than in this video's description, I can only assume it to be the case since the voice (hell, the *accent)* is completely different.
@glori_val3 жыл бұрын
@@alansmithee419 the singing voice is of a David Arneil, according to Google. They wanted Skimble to have a Scottish accent.

In the 1998 film, his movements seemed a bit stiff and small, I seem confused on why he changed the choreography a bit...

Thanks for uploading all the cats videos! May I ask where you get them from?
@rbfloat4 жыл бұрын
Wait, he was dubbed? Why?
@chrissi28104 жыл бұрын
Because they wanted a Scottish accent for Skimble
@beetlejuicelover75264 жыл бұрын
They wanted skimble to be Scottish, it's like they took one look at skimble and was like, 'this cat...this cat has to be Scottish' if that came out rude I am so sorry, cats is literally my favourite film
@rachelmma4 жыл бұрын
to add to the other points, (which i completely agree with btw) he mentions places from Scotland so it would make sense for him to be scottish
@HeyCallMeLy4 жыл бұрын
rachelmma exactly! The night mail was a real train around the 1930s which ran between London and Glasgow iirc, so Scottish!Skimble is likely from Glasgow
