If I'm honest, I knew something was dreadfully wrong when Sean emerged with a slightly diminished vocal volume a few years ago. But he seemed to get stronger and I had stopped worrying about him so much. His passing was such a shock though. The suddenness shocks me even now as I think about it. Every year, I would look forward to the new season of Cats and it was mostly for Sean. Such a joy to watch. Sounds crazy but it feels like part of my life has gone. I hope they keep making the show. It will never be quite the same but that's OK. Rest in peace, Sean. Thanks for all the laughs.

In retrospect, seeing him gaunt pale and wan, with his head shaven, it seems obvious he had cancer, but hindsight is 20/20. It speaks volumes about the man that his humor, presence and behavior gave no hint of his poor health, resulting in his passing being such a surprise. That's quite a man that, by any meaningful measure. Respect.

He had James Corden in hysterics but James chose to salute Norm Macdonald ...ONLY. Norm was very funny but many Brits are mystified as to what was the reason. Breaking America is a young comic's game these days, hopefully both sides of the Atlantic get decades of stuff from James Acaster.

The bald-headesd gay dude in a suit is the most off-putting comedian I have ever witnessed. It feels not just that his material is written for him, but that he lacks the ability to seem natural entirely. If that is his 'act', or 'bit'? He sounds like he has rehearsed being funny by being booked as a motivational speaker. The kind that shows up and says 'good morning... oh come on I can't hear you, GOOD MORNING' without any irony. Like he thinks what he is saying is brilliant because he has rehearsed it 400 times in the mirror and thinks he finally figured out what was funny about it, but he smothers it in the infancy of 'reciting' it. He isn't performing, he is reciting things someone wrote for him and waiting for the laugh-track. Then ok I guess... I guess I don't get the meta of someone so bad at comedy they are good at comedy because they are good at being bad on purpose? It's an infinite overlap of cringe, and by that logic, Amy Schumer is the greatest comedian to ever live.
