Beautiful woman and dancer. A great singer she is not. You can find video’s of her live in the Dutch cast of Cats... totally different voice. She was dubbed by Helen Massey/Helen Massie. You can even find Helen in a video talking about recording these parts.

My favorite cat. I love the way she stands like someone positioned a G.I. Joe action figure. Her facial expression is perpetually one of joyful innocence and wonder. Of all the *many* things Tom Hooper ruined in the 2019 version, the Jemima cuts hurt the most.

Everyone that says her voice was changed completely, it was not, it was changed for the major parts but not in the first song and in the moments of happiness because you can hear her accent. For the other parts they used both voices and put Massey’s voice in for the parts that didn’t sound right.

No, her voice was completely dubbed. Being from the Netherlands her English was not strong and her accent was too thick, also her voice is about 10 octaves higher than Helen Massey, she has an extremely high voice, almost sounds like a teenager at times. I will state that after the film was produced she went on to Reprise her role in the Original London run, but this was years later almost towards the end of the run.

I realise this is 13 years late, but Veerle is Belgian, not Dutch. She's notable for having played Jemima in the Dutch production of Cats, so that's probably why many people think she is Dutch.

I know it's been years, but A) Veerle still should get credit for the dancing and acting, and B) Veerle has an amazing voice too, even if you can't hear it here. But yeah, Helen should definitely get more credit too

kurumais it may say mungojerrie and rumpleteazer were dubbed but the actors found out and re recorded it so their voice in the film is there but it still says the name in the credits of the people they got into dub
