@okayfloatstudios30974 жыл бұрын
They actually never truly finished the CGI. At the last minute it just got really lazy with everyone knowing it was gonna flop. Everything was last minute even the filming and soundtrack. They had Taylor Swift create a song for this movie literally moments before filming and the poor actress had to mime like she knew the song with no rehearsals! Thats how last minute it was.

@@okayfloatstudios3097 calling the VFX artist lazy is insulting. They worked 70 hours/week shift during 3 months to make this movie happen. The blame goes to Tom Hooper that was never able to lock the looks of characters until the last month of the production.

I agree. Accusing the VFX is bad. These are the people who do most of the work in this industry. I know people who worked on it in the CGI department. They didn't gey payed well enough and the VFX wete assigned so late in production so they literally did NOT have time to work on it. The people who are to blame and the director the producers and poor managment that never made the right decisions. It is them who gave ip and let the CGI crew to work on their own with basically no salary. People who blame it on the CGI crew and just stupid and it proves that nobody know how this industry actually works...

Legitimately one of my favourite movie theatre experiences was seeing this with a friend of mine and just laughing and laughing and hearing/seeing all the reactions of the audience. I feel like the people there were all in the perfect frame of mind: ready for it to be bad but absolutely blown away by how much worse it was than you could ever prepare for. Even a theatre employee popped into the theatre to watch and laugh at some parts. It was one of the best bad-movie experiences ever.

It was supposed to be an animated movie by producer Steven Spielberg, but it was cancelled in 1994 after Amblimation Studios went bankrupt. Before I say anything else, I will say that this film DEFINITELY needs to have its litter box changed. Every bit of dialog you heard that was not sung was added to the film, all the bad puns, all the meowing, all the hissing and breathing are NOT in the original stage play. This film is definitive proof that some forms of entertainment DO NOT translate well to other mediums, and the play was already pushing it from its translation from the book. This all started as a book of poems about cats written by T. S. Elliot, which he wrote for his grandchildren. This is why the structure of the songs/story is basically just talking about one cat and then the next cat and so on. The stage play involved some very interesting moments with audience interaction and technology, and many enjoyed it, but in the creation of this film I there were a TON of mistakes made about adding things here and there that were not needed, in addition to the rushed special effects and the thing that make you die inside. Interestingly enough there was a DVD release of the Cats stage show that was more or less JUST the stage show, so this film REALLY WASN'T NEEDED, and was obviously just a means of hopefully making more money off of the whole thing. None the less, I hope all of this was helpful in demystifying this turd of a film, and I am sorry you had to watch it.

Idk I think the biggest issue here (besides the obvious) is that they tried to make a story out of a musical that.,.literally doesn’t have one. It’s not like I even like the original, but the point of it was to express a series themes rather than an actual plot, which is why it’s so freaking confusing in the movie. I mean, of course there’s also the issues with the music and visuals and “humor” and characters and all that, but story wise this is the biggest issue.

I love this movie because it's weird and upsetting and made me feel insane in the theater, which was something I had never felt before.

Oh god I so fcking love your reaction video. I laughed soooo much. "Die! All you cats just die!" Hilarious!

Wow! I knew it was going to be bad. The thing I don’t understand is how far it got in production and no one said maybe we shouldn’t do this. Your reaction to this was hilarious! I also kept repeating WHY?!

props to jason derulo for actually staying with the ensemble and if you're curious, i did pay to go watch this movie in cinemas. it was an experience. i genuinely feel bad for the ensemble bc they obviously worked hard on the choreo

As someone who saw Cats in theaters, it was both the best and worse theater experience I've ever had in my life. ( it was also the first time I filmed the movie in the theater

They're not really dancing. They're just circling each other.

Cats the movie is a horror movie about cats longing for death through song. Cats the West end musical is a fun series of songs and choreographed dance with huge props and a simple but intricate background

This movie may be a new way of governmental torture when they need to interrogate someone and get some secret coordinates... But you held out quite good hahahaha

It pains me to say that given that Cats released on Boxing Day here in Melbourne, I saw this in cinemas... I think you'd understand just how many times I died inside watching this film. It's pure filth ughhh I hate it so so so so so much. I can't believe I actually got through it

Nics&Nacs Every ounce in my body kept me from leaving that cinema because like you I can’t judge a movie properly until I’ve seen the whole thing!! By the way this is so cool that you replied!!! I’m such a fan and as a fellow Melbournian it sucks that cinemas are closed right now. Rumours are going round that when cinemas reopen the dark knight trilogy and other Nolan masterpieces will return to screens
@nicsandnacs4 жыл бұрын
I am buying all the Nolan tickets! If Tenet is the first film I see on the big screen after all this I am going to be so happy! Us Melbournians gotta stick together (from a distance of course) 😂

Nics&Nacs hahaha 100%!! Tenet is gonna be soooo good I’ve been excited for so long! Do you have a fav Nolan pick or a top 3?

When the dying inside count first popped up, I thought it would hit like, 11? God damn 20. Credit to you Nicky I cant even imagine going through the footage just of yourself trying to find stuff to put in the cause I bet most of it is just you with a look of horror on your face

I don't know if you are familiar with the channel FXinpost, but they do fan made shorts. They are best known for the reimagined Obi-wan v. Darth Vader duel from the original Star Wars. Recently, they dropped a Punisher video, with The Punisher in a warehouse killing everyone. I left the following comment: That was entertaining. I have a suggestion that would gain you instant popularity. Insert your Punisher from 1:30 to 2:30 into the CATS movie and have him do that to all the characters. People would love you forever! Frank Castle: "No more puns." edit: also, change the "Have a nice day" on the mug to CATS, but keep the middle finger. That could be at the very end. You would get a standing ovation, I'm telling you! If anyone wants to go see it and hits "like" on the comment, maybe we can get them to actually do it. link below. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gaSreYNvZcl9oqc
