Except cats have fairly poor close-up vision and so probably could not see the drops going the wrong way. They could hear it and see the light and smell water. The drops are probably pretty blurry to them.

I might be mistaken, but I think the frequency related to sight can be different between different animals species, so the parameters most humans would need to see the water "stop" or "rewind" aren't the same as the settings these cats would need to see the same thing.

Its not zero gravity, its not even vibrations. The camera is just recording at a equal framerate as the water dripping down. So it looks as if the droplets float.
