@@D97-q2m Serious question, have you ever owned a cat? I can tell you, that cat is not stressed at all being in or near water. You can condition cats to not hate water by bathing them regularly when young for example. My cat sometimes jumps on the counter when the tap is running and takes a little shower by himself (though diving and swimming is still a nono). From a lifelong cat owner's experience, I would say that cat doesn't mind water and it's definitely not terrified. I personally would put a lifejacket on it and the leash kinda scared me at first because it might get tangled up while swimming, but from what I can see they're in very calm water and are always very close to it so I don't really see the cat in danger.

Some cats do like water, they aren’t scared of it like in cartoons. Water is a weird feeling. You have to get them used to it, because cats lean themselves. Imagine being put in some warm liquid un announced, pretty startling.

mmm not really. I'm assuming you don't know much about cats and are relying on what cartoons and stereotype of cats tell you. Because many cats love water. They could naturally like it from the beginning or often, it has to do with conditioning them when they're young kittens so they associate water with good, positive feelings. He probably had a very good owner before who did this or he grew up on the streets and learned to not be afraid by himself as he wouldn' always have a safe place to hide from rain and what not. What makes him unique is that he enjoys surfing and isn't scared by all the loud sounds and waves hitting him.

My niece has a cat like this. She has to keep her bathroom door shut and the toilet sit down. If she doesn’t the cat will lay in the toilet or jump in the bath tub/shower when she’s trying to get dress.

@@Zeetana1 he’s not scared, he’s just taking in a lot of incoming light from the sun. The pupils of cats constrict and dilate in reaction to environmental stimuli. Here, being at the beach, and exposed to high amounts of sunlight caused the cats eyes to constrict in order to preserve and protect the eye. The counter mechanism would be dilation where cats lets the most amount of light into the eye.

Apparently, you are not aware of parents fighting over how children are raised; and vicious court battles over child custody case. If this cat were treated as a cat and not as a human, he could not have learned to surf. Respect animals and treat them as equals. Animals are far superior to humans in many ways.
