That cat's a dog. She's never used her claws, they're always retracted and has never ever shown aggression towards humans, she plap slaps for fun but never scratches. Only hissed once, because she saw another cat, ONCE. That cat is awesome, but is actually dog.

We named our cat Chuck Norris after she escaped her carrier at LAX. Fortunately, she ran into a room where she opened her travel size can of Whupass and poured it all over the TSA guys. She went up on her hind legs and was swinging away at them, so they backed up and left. She went up and over a file cabinet, by then my husband was in the room, he closed the door, caught her, but she won the war. She bit, scratched, clawed and drew blood. But he did get first class and free drinks, so it wasn’t all bad. Being the sympathetic spouse, I asked him if he recorded any of the battle for KZbin. He said nothing, he just handed me the cat and said never again.

My cats first visit to the vet was during the shutdown so I wasn't allowed in the office with him. They called me about 15 mind later and said "yeah, this isn't going to work. He's going for blood." they brought him back out to my car and I stuck my hand in the carrier and he purred, licked and loved all over me. The assistant just smiled and said "I knew he was a mommas boy.".... So yeah, we have an at home sedation schedule for him before all vet visits. He's awake during them just loopy.

Accurate. My cat has to be swaddled at the vet and she's flagged as a biter, but at home she'll let me do IVs and shove tubes in her mouth no problem. Before covid I'd go in and hold her for them (she wasn't happy but she would at least sit still), but when she got really sick recently I can't help but feel bad because I KNOW she's a nightmare.

One of mine is the total opposite. Every time I take him to the vet he leaves his Tasmanian devil side at home. He’s a total angel and everyone loves him. He even let the doc put a contact lense on his eye without a flinch. Meanwhile trying to make him swallow a pill at home will get you decorated by the murder mittens.

29 years, 4 cats and I never had this problem. My cats were always incredibly calm and well behaved, I wish I knew what I did different so I could give tips 👀 one thing I did different for which I got a lot of shit from selfproclaimed cat experts was making my cats crate comfy. I’d clean it often, put fluffy warm blankets or pillows in it, the most critic I’ve got was for knitting a blanky for my cat 😂 Karen was very offended, but my kitty loved snuggling with it in his crate after being violated by the vet lol

I work as a vet assistant at an animal hospital, and I can confirm we do get quite a few cats like this…dogs can be a bit feisty too but more times then not it’s the cats…while there are cats that come in who are friendly and passive, more often the dogs are like that

I read a funny “vet story” years ago. Apparently a lady came in with two cats. 1 in a crate. The other chilling in her arms. The vet reminded her that they had a strict “cat must be in crate policy”, and the lady basically laughed at him. Told him the loose cat will behave it just will NOT enter a crate. The vet took this as a challenge. The lady told him go ahead and “try”. The vet took an extra crate, took the mellow cat, and went into an exam room. Less then a minute later cursing and chaos erupted. Cat screams and cursing ensured mixed in with slamming and other sounds of chaos. This went on for some time. After which a severely beaten up vet vet left the exam room, mellow cat in one arm, empty crate in the other. “This cat will not go into a car crate” the vet announced in a monotone/stunned voice. The lady just smiled knowingly and took her “chill cat”. That cat was then excerpt from “that” rule. No word how much the vet had to drink that night.

When we received our first cat after castration, vet told us that our cat didn't surrender without an epic fight. He went for 5 vets that were trying to give him sedation and only after horse dose he fall asleep. He was really strong, big musсles. Vet said that 3 big man couldn't hold him and blood was spilled :DDD He was amazing cat, really smart and knew some commands and could say "mom" and did his business in the toilet. Miss him so much!

My friend's cat has been "fired" from at least one vet clinic for being overly aggressive. This cat even had to be sedated for nail trimmings, so you can imagine how much of a nightmare it was to vaccinate her. (To be fair to the vets, she pretty much hated every living creature but her owner, which certainly made things interesting when her friends went to her place for movie and game nights.) I am eternally grateful that my cats have never given their vets any reason to fire them as patients.

I remember when we had to feed my parents' cat some medicine. My mother and myself were up to our elbows in cuts and nicks and blood. Never got that pill in her. My mother later had the idea to put the pill in her food, which was the same color. Cat ate the entire bowl, except for a tiny circle in the middle that she had carefully avoided. You guessed it...the bit with the pil in it. In the end, she had to crush the pill into powder and mix it in the cat's food that way to make her eat it :)

For most of these cases it's cats that have already been to the vet, but if your bringing you cat to a vet for the first time in it's life and starts acting scared and/or violent it's because the veterinary clinic you're at does not do things professionally in there. What I mostly mean by that is they either; perform the euthanizing of a pet in the same rooms that they diagnose and treat your cat, dogs even, or the vet that does the euthanizing also does the treating of your pet. They can smell the death, and it causes their instincts to kick into fight or flight response. Keep in mind though that this is not common negligence in most veterinary clinics, most of them are aware of this and keep it in completely separate rooms. I hope this helps anyone.

I remembered how my 2nd cat was in the vet. He was a very good cat or boy. He sat on the table while I was holding him gently and even petting him. I was with my mother during the vet visit. I was holding our first cat in my arms. I saw a guy that brought his cat to the vet,too. His cat was a red tabby with a little bit of longer fur than mine cat. My cat never did growl or hissed at the other cat. My 2nd cat was in 2 laundry baskets as a pet carrier hold by shoelaces on either side. That was the safest to carried the cat in since he was a big cat and weighed 20 pounds. Both cats were so good at the vet. I remembered one time the assistant of the vet saw my father with our 2nd cat. She said that he looked liked the cat with the white on his beard. My father had red hair. My 2nd cat had a little bit of white under his chin. Even had all 4 paws that were white, a white spot on his belly, and an orange and white striped tail. I was so lucky that he was a very cute big kitty cat. He wasn’t a Maine Coon cat. He did acted liked one,too.

My cat usually meows the way to the vet all upset, but he just stays there when he gets checked up, he doesn't fight back or anything he's all like "I accept my fate" I could never imagine him being aggressive like these cats

As an LVT, even though they want to claw our eyes out, I just love dealing with angry cats. Seriously LOL

You just can't take them serious. Like sweetie you are tiny, you can't hurt me in any way that matters
