Hi RayElla, Thank you so much for watching! If you can't come up here then you might want to see if there is a fossil or mineral club in your area. They can usually get people into good places. Thank you again! Cheers, Chris

Oh my! You guys just had a fabulous day! Those were some fabulous fossil finds and the calcite formations with huge, fully formed crystals, were so beautiful! Just gorgeous! I've seen calcite formations with perfect formed crystals before, but not with such large crystals and in such large pieces! My goodness but that large rock you got with big, beautiful, fully formed calcite crystals was just gorgeous! And that big rock with the crinoid stems in it you got was amazing! Just an amazing display piece with perfect stems in matrix! And those sponges are amazing too! I know they don't preserve well so those are really rare to find and you guys all found so many of them, and all different sizes! I've never seen ones so round before! Just amazing. I wouldn't be able to help myself, if I was there, and take home a huge death plate of all kinds of fossils! I have several smaller ones with great preservation of the fossils in the matrix, but I would love to have a big yard rock to display in the yard! What an amazing day and that is so nice of the quarry to let you guys hunt their rock for fossils and take them home! Awesome!

Hi Largent45, Yes, they were such amazing crystals! We were very lucky that the miner had just blasted out an area and left all these exposed for us. We were also very fortunate that the quarry let us in to collect that day. They let us take home whatever we wanted so long as they "don't have to carry anything for us" lol. Yes those crystals are huge! My guess is that they took millions of years to form. Do you have any quarries or nice outcrops near you? If there could be a nice boulder waiting to be displayed. That's how I started out and now my yard is like a walk through museum - with Ordovician, Devonian and Pennsylvanian sections, Thank you for watching and that you for for your comments. Your enthusiasm is strong and I wish you many happy fossil collecting adventures ahead! Thank you again for all your positive feedback! Cheers, Chris
