I have 2 Tonkinese - they are a bonded brother & sister. If you work full time you will need two and not just one. When I come home they run to me meowing, I get more cuddles than you can imagine and we play fetch all the time - they bring the toy to you. A good breeder has DNA tested them for medical. They will jump on everything and everyone. If you don’t want a cat with a huge personality that adores you - they are not for you. I couldn’t feel more loved 🥰

I have 2 amazing tonkinese cats and while I can attest that this video is very accurate, it's not bad at all. I used to work all the time so I got my little tonkinese another tonkinese and that solved that problem as they preoccupied each other until I got home. Simple petting as often as you can negates the grooming concern. They will randomly walk through the house at 3am meowing like someone just stole thier milk bottle. I get a full report from my male tonkinese kitty the minute I walk in house which I find cute. If anyone has any questions on this breed feel free to reach out. We had our Tonkinese cat for 6 years. He was confined 4 times due to UTI crystals. That bugger got me worried. He’s okay now with his wife (Persian) and their son (Bombay cat) ^.^ ❤

I have a tonkinese and he is literally my best friend. He will snuggle, chat with you and I couldn't wish for a more beautiful cat. I highly recommend them. All cats come with issues and various personalities, but I'd take my Tonkinese any day.

I have 2 Tonkinese 14 &15 now. That have had no health issues knock on wood. I adore their tempermeant they are like little dogs. The health issues are real but my 1st lived till 26 so I'm grateful I had her as long as I did. I love all these qualities and see them as positive. They bring me and my husband so much joy. But our lifestyles match them. I will only own Tonks because of their nature. But its true some people should not own them. As my first was a rescue left in a pet carrier in a parking lot. So if you cannot commit to this breed please don't buy them just because they are pretty.

Thank you for this. I became disabled a few years ago and have been considering a companion...I could not care for a dog (which I would LOVE) so I was hoping for a cat that required lower-maintenance. The Tonkinese seemed to be friendly and of course so beautiful but I would not be able to give him/her the attention needed.

My last Tonk was 22yrs old when she passed. 🥹 We miss her every day. Renal disease took her in the end. What we missed most when she went over the rainbow was the quietness of our home.... We now have 2 Tonks.

Our 11 year old tonk, moby, was put down due to pancreatitus...some of the saddest times of our lives 😢...yes, they require the best care and diet which I wish we'd paid more attention too
