Thanks for this video. Stahls is awesome. Worked very well. Had some quick rush jobs come in and these worked great. Had 1 shirt returned because part of the name was coming up after 1st wash... it was a small shirt. The seams had part of my press raised. Make sure you have a pillow pad insert for smaller shirts if you have a large press because any seam or collar can throw your pressure off.

@magicalmerk Yes, I think you can just buy a fluorescent or pearlescent vinyl film to cut on the plotter. There are actually many different types of specialty transfer materials with patterns, designs, textures and fluorescent colors too. Check with your local transfer supply vendor or search it online. @majesticmind1 I prefer to only have one layer of tee shirt on the press. It eliminates any wrinkles or fussing to flatten both sides of the shirt. Only smaller sizes I lay on the press without loading them on the pallet. Plus I am a screen printer and I am use to seeing my tee shirts upside down like that. Maybe that’s part of it too. You know how it is, sometimes we do things just because we are used to doing it that way. Thanks for watching & commenting!

@anooosy1988 Thank you!For names and numbers like shown in this video you will need to use vinyl heat transfer materials and a plotter. Inkjet printers and laser printers of the consumer grade do not print white ink. The guitar heat transfer you speak of was an inkjet heat transfer printed with an inkjet printer from the computer. you make good videos have gave me alot of information about making my own shirts thanks, I do think if you used a higher quality camera your videos would be more clear, I use the Kodak zi8 it can shoot in 1080p or what I use it 720p with 60/fps Very cheap camera with good quality for low and high lighting comes with decent editing software. One of the shoulder patches on my jersey got peeled off a little and I don't want to take it to the printing shop to have it pressed. Is it possible to just put adhesive or glue on the back of the patch and press it using a normal dry heat or steam iron? What kind of adhesive material should I use?

No, I would not say that at all. A direct screen print will outlast a vinyl heat transfer any day. Vinyl will not fade but it will crack and perhaps peel off after long periods of time with continuous washing and laundering. Plus it's a whole lot stiffer and heavier feeling on the garment. Is this method good for designs which have numbers/simple designs (e.g like the one you did here in this video) or can this method be also used for illustration designs? Because when i use heat transfer for my illustration design and it feels heavy like it will stick onto your chest area, unlike the simple design where it does not stick. @azza7717 You could use rolls of colored transfer vinyl with a plotter and software to do it yourself. But that adds a lot of extra labor so you have to weigh it out. The more labor you put into a job the less you really make. Thanks for watching & commenting! ☠

So you print the numbers on there or they're sent to you with names and numbers on there? I called stahls to order something like this and I'm getting a quote back that would be way too high for a kids team. I have a multicolored logo that I need applied to many tshirts and I'm getting back large quotes. Any thoughts?

+Joshua Seigel Yes, this is Player Perfect. It's a 1 color service. The reason your getting a high quote is because of the multi colors. These cost about $5 each or less the last time I did these. How important is it to have the collar of the shirt off the platen? I will be pressing all sizes down to toddler size shirts. I realize the collar will cause and not-so flush press, but is it negligible? Thanks

@jpbeanies No, I do not think that is a good idea. An iron will never reach the temperature of a heat press even if you press real hard. Irons do not get nearly as hot as heat presses and they cannot spread the heat evenly and consistently enough for a professional transfer. Thanks for watching and commenting!
