Not too long ago, a radio station out of Little Rock would have old radio programs beginning around 10 at night. I would catch them as I was on my way back home from one of the last old time honky tonks with good live bands, dancing and...well...other things.

Am always interested in the origins of songs. And Cattle Call has always been a favorite .I first heard the Eddy Arnold version back in the 60's.

Always figured this was Eddy Arnold's song, guess I was wrong. Great song and songwriter.

Eddy made the song famous. Without him we never would have heard of Tex Owens, even though he wrote it.
