I’m beyond blessed to live in this area. I know a local fourth generation cowboy whose father raised cattle which they moved on highway 120 to Bridgeport when he was a kid and teenager. I love seeing their cattle and how they work the cattle.

I kept on waiting for an interview with one of the many-generations of the cattle families who have sustainably managed their allotments and deeded lands, now going on for their third century. It also seems to be that when the USFS had far fewer boots on the ground and more timber harvesting in the 1950s-1970s, there were fewer problems and fires than we seem to have today. Otherwise, it was a fairly nice presentation here.

Why weren't any ranchers interviewed? Only two parties were represented, talking about a third who wasn't there to respond. The USFS rep was kind to ranching, but it'd still be nice to have more of a first-person account.

Both sides are well presented, bringing my attention to an issue I took for granted. I hope cattle in the Sierra continue with a few adjustments.

Did he know that cow poop is food for a lot of microorganisms? And helps rotate the cycle of life within the Forest.

Who is the guy in the blue shirt bellyaching about the "underfunded" USFS, and cows causing pollution? Who is he representing? He's an activist and not a rancher. I want to hear from the ranchers who actually manage the land. When he talks about "lawsuits" it sounds like he's threatening the USFS and ranchers who administer and use grazing permits.

Heres to seeing cattle and livestock free to graze in the high country!!! Don't let politicans and gov take over and gobble up more land and rights of people. Let the real ranchers be!!!

"Cattle don't just eat grass, they also eat the browse." .....I sure hope they're no eating pine needles, especially if they are pregnant.....
