Love this! I’m planning my garden layout and install these arches as well Question: while every other video shows using 6’ T posts; why do you use 3/4” EMT? And, how long are the EMT pieces do you use? Thank you so much for sharing❤

Great info PawPaw! I appreciate the tips and demonstration. I have some old posts where a grape arbor used to be and I think this may do just the trick to bring back that beautiful archway they provided by using a faster growing vegetable or flower. Thanks again!!

I grow cantaloupe on mine with crochet hammocks to support them. Less rodent, insect, and fungal issues.

This is a great video, thank you so much for taking the time to make it. I'm purchasing two of the cattle panels this weekend, 4/21/24 to plant my gourd seeds (I live in Wisconsin). This will be the first time for me, and I have some questions, but I keep getting conflicting information. I'm putting two of the cattle panels together to make one large one like you did, but I'm not making the permanent boxes this year. You actually answered one of my questions. I see you plant the seeds on the outer sides of the trellises. I wasn't sure if it was the inside or outside, but I can clearly see you have the boxes on the outsides. Thank you! My other question is, how many seeds go into each hole you dig, and how far apart should I plant them along the trellis outer edge? Some people are saying 4 to 10 feet apart, but if that were the case, I would only be able to plant like 10 or so seeds, which doesn't seem like a lot. I'll keep searching your videos to see if you have any posted about the actual planting of the seeds and layout, but if you can please help me with that, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you again and I look forward to hearing from you!

What was the plug you were hammering the tube in? Awesome looking garden

My son (a machinist) made me a stainless steel plug that stops me from deforming the conduit when I pound it into the ground.

What material do you use for those garden beds? They look beefy, trying to figure out how to keep rabbits out/off the veggies. So maybe double/triple height

Not to sound like a know it all, but I noticed that you have some sort of "driving cap" on your conduit, think that needs mentioning, maybe a 1" pipe nipple w/a cap or something like that? Great video on the subject 👌.

What if your beds are galvanized metal and attaching the trellis really isn’t an option ? Thx for the video !
@timmcquerry60688 ай бұрын
The stakes(3/4" EMT conduit, T-posts, re-bar.) Whatever soil condition you have, is the structural element. Up against the planter box(weight) that's what holds this up. Anchoring it to the box is of marginal help. So don't worry, build it, they are a GREAT addition to your garden.

Thanks Larry. I use copper based pressure treated lumber. Everything I have read says you will not have an issue with it.
