The farmer is lucky to have a good contractor like you to do the extra work to make that pond better and not just say good enough and collect a check and move on leaving him with future propblems and having to spend more money later to fix it again. Good call on making it meet a standard above his expectations. 👍 👍
@PurpleNovember11 ай бұрын
Absolutely! All of his work is like that.

Ain't it funny how sometimes when you're working on a job, you keep getting the "while you're here, can you also do such and such" from the home owner? Lol. I love it when that happens.

Yep! Lol. Or the neighbors want some work done while I'm there.

You did a great job on the pond. It's amazing how trees seem to grow once you get them on the ground and cut up and get ready to burn them. LoL I knew Ole Jimmy couldn't let you do all that work by yourself. I think he likes to burn things. LoL Y'all have a Happy New Year and Be Safe Out There.

Looking good man!I have to admit that at first I was wondering why you weren't building up the perimeter of the pond to hold more water, but then I realized that the cattle have to be able to access it🤣🤣 Great job...nice blower by the way, I am a Stihl man myself, I bought a Stihl chainsaw in the 90's and it's still going, I've worn out the drive sprocket on it though....good stuff!
@smithworx109111 ай бұрын
Appreciate it, bro. I honestly didn't think I was gonna be able to get that much dirt out of the bottom of the pond after digging that little test hole. I'm glad I was able to raise it up a bit. You just can't beat a stihl. One of the few things that are still worth buying nowadays.

Looks like it has a good hard pan of clay on the bottom of the pond Lindsey, and it started out sloppy mud! Goes to show you that it’s probably going to hold water for a long time my friend! Looks like good clay, for a pond dam! Good job Lindsey, thanks for sharing brother! Kirk in Louisiana sending prayers and positive energy for you and your family! Stay safe, warm and healthy throughout this winter my friend! I think the rainy season is coming soon, then if you do a check back on the pond filling, can you please show us an update! If the farmer will throw out some rye grass, I believe he’ll have a pretty good stand on grass by February and keep it from eroding throughout this winter! Looks good my friend! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

26:38 I’m not sure if it was the same stuff or not but I tried to have a little pond ( about 10’ around and 3’ deep in the center) in material a lot like that and it would not hold water at all! It was a nightmare to dig out too. I would literally use a power drill to drill a bunch of holes and then bust the chunk off with a splitting maul. I tried a mini ex and it wouldn’t touch it. The hole made for a good fire pit though.
@smithworx109111 ай бұрын
Man I hope this isn't the same stuff. When it gets wet, it's real sticky. I figure it's just that gray clay that's hardened.
@PurpleNovember11 ай бұрын
@@smithworx1091 This stuff felt like clay with a little water on it but a lot of water it was slimy and gritty.
