We started our day with delicious breakfast in Taiwan (台灣). Think dumplings, turnip cake, steamed buns, and milk tea. Yum! A surprise act of kindness while we were eating really got our day off on the right foot. People in Taiwan are so kind. We also got caught in a typhoon! We had planned to visit the Yehliu Geopark but it was closed due to large waves caused by the typhoon. We stopped at the beach to marvel at the water crashing against the rocks in a spectacular fashion. In the distance, we could see the abandoned Wanli UFO Village which is one of the coolest places we’ve ever been. Click here to see the video we made exploring there on our last trip to Taiwan: bit.ly/taiwanufovillage. Since the geopark was closed, we went to the Juming Museum which is a totally unique place. Juming is a famous Taiwanese artist whose work has been exhibited around the world in places like New York, London, and Paris. It’s incredible to see his exact vision come to life at the the Juming Museum.

Thanks for introducing us (me) to the thoughtful and evocative work of Ju Ming. You’re brave to have ventured out in a typhoon! And, my goodness, how about the kindness of strangers. It renews faith and lifts the soul. BTW, why can’t you ever get angry at a yam? Because they’re such sweet potatoes. 😜 Thank you. I’ll be here all week. Order the veal. 😘🙌

hahah any and all yam jokes are ok by me, Michael! The delicious breakfast was quite...yammy 😉😆The kindness of strangers is truly heartwarming and inspiring. It was a lovely way to start the day. The museum was amazing too and the chance to have a walk around someone else's mind for a while. The dedication to make such a place over more than 12 years and all the time making the sculptures. It was a day of surprises for sure.

The dumplings looked really yummy. I'm guessing that "squidgy" is a more Canadian-used word than english in general; I had by coincidence re-watched recently the episode with the Poutine at the one Poutine-specialty shop (the video had poutine, the 'tiger tails', & the Nanaimo bars) & of course, Marc sad that the poutine was "nice & squidgy"; .. as I had also commented in that one, referencing a different video from a point earlier on. ( Ps, too funny on the momentary sitting on the yams story.) ; The Tai-chi movement sculptures were super interesting & cool to see in that park.

Hey Kevin! haha I wonder about squidgy! Maybe it's just something we say? 😅 It describes it nicely, I think. You're making me hungry with the thoughts of poutine, tiger tail ice cream, and Nanaimo bars by the way... Glad you liked seeing the Juming Museum too! It was really interesting.

So glad you enjoyed seeing the museum too, Scott - it's truly a unique place and we loved it. Imagine how much time and effort and vision it took to create the site let alone all the sculptures and works of art!? Make sure to keep those cooked yams nearby for warmth this winter....! 😂
