Have you seen the same scenario in which the daughter resented her dad and later regretted it. People some times make decisions in the heat of the moment and regret it later. It is most likely that he sought therapy and then realised his mistake.It might have taken him some time to build courage to talk to her. As someone who's father abandoned them and never really was a "Father Figure" since he'd let himself get walked all over by both me and my Mother...
