Also, so what if you think your body is not a fit to what’s in your head, you can still live with that and adapt your lifestyle to suit you - you can still be yourself, we live in a world of acceptance now compared to when I was young, which is a good thing. But don’t put on to young people and/or children that there is a surgical ‘remedy’ to how their young interpretation of things can be fixed for them. It’s not true. Surgery is for life and medication is often required for years if not life. This is akin to the surgical ‘lobotomy’ cure for mental health many years ago that was meant to cure people of mental ill health or incapacity - and was not regarded as successful in any way - far from it. Leave young people to develop maturity and give them proper and adequate education to all options - including loving themselves no matter what and adapting to respect how they are - that is the key to making a a more healthy person overall

As a Pediatrician, I am so encouraged by the bravery of the American College of Pediatricians . Opening the eyes to the truth of the harm many of our patients and parents are suffering guided by an incorrect and harmful management of gender discomfort especially during the years where growth and development are still occurring. Our children don't look the same when they are 1,3,7,10,12,15,20,25... They are changing , and so are their minds , emotions and beliefs. It is criminal to tie them to one belief knowing they change and in this causing harm to a perfectly functioning human body. It is taking their freedom away . Needless to say, our responsibility as physicians is to help this vulnerable population to grow in a healthy way to their utmost potential as they were created and for which they were created. We are not to change what is healthy and working properly but to help in the healing of what is not. We should all join and decry this abomination that has been supported by a deranged purpose , incorrect and unsupported science and start working hard to help this part of out patient family prosper and reach thier purpose in life.

They all are "coincidentally" conservatives pushing conservative positions on a variety of issues. For those of you who clearly don’t understand, the American College of Pediatricians (ACP) is NOT the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The ACP is a socially conservative advocacy group widely known among average citizens and especially parents of LGBTQ kids to be anti-LGBTQ, whereas the AAP is the respected professional association of pediatricians that actually represents the scientific community. The AAP has 67,000 medical professional members, at last count, whereas the ACP had just 500 members (it is not surprising to me that this information is not available on their website). The ACP is made up of religious fanatics, far right wing people, fascists, and people who believe in assertions that have no evidence to support their claims.
