I was a tomboy growing up in the 70s and 80s. I had 4 older brothers, and I wanted to be just like them. We would play army in the woods. The boys didn't have to go home to pee. They could pee standing up. I wanted to pee standing up. I thought it was so unfair. After I went through puberty, of course, everything changed. I no longer had any desire to pee standing up. If I were growing up in today's society, and I wanted to pee standing up, they'd allow my 11 year old self to make an adult decision to change my gender. That's so crazy. But since 2016 election, they've gone off the deep end. I largely agree with the pro-life position on abortion. I don't agree on the ACP organization's past positions on gay marriage but I am gender critical politically as of 2024 (I used to support gender activists back in the early 2010s but my position has changed), so I do not align with proposals made by Gender Theory (aka theories proposed by Judith Butler or the likes of John Money, etc.), or transactivism (not to be conflated with trans or gender dysphoric people), in general. I also consider post 3rd wave intersectional feminism to be a regression against classical feminism.

For those of you who clearly don’t understand, the American College of Pediatricians (ACP) is NOT the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). The ACP is a socially conservative advocacy group widely known among average citizens and especially parents of LGBTQ kids to be anti-LGBTQ, whereas the AAP is the respected professional association of pediatricians that actually represents the scientific community. The AAP has 67,000 medical professional members, at last count, whereas the ACP had just 500 members (it is not surprising to me that this information is not available on their website). The ACP is made up of religious fanatics, far right wing people, fascists, and people who believe in assertions that have no evidence to support their claims.
