Not condoning the behavior, but for those pointing fingers at laziness or not liking the job, it has more to do with the stress of the job. Management puts alot of stress on carriers to finish routes, in an unreasonable amount of time. When carriers do more work in less time, for less money, it makes supervisors and post masters look good to their bosses. Routes are often over burdened and/or not correctly credited for how long they take to finish. Its a difficult, stressful, toxic work environment and unfortunately some carriers crack under the pressure and sadly resort to egregious mis handling of the mail
