Completely understand what you mean. I had to get my wife to understand the importance of situational awareness too. I'm trained, a veteran, all that, and she always thinks "Oh baby, you've got everything covered." But what I needed her to understand was that HER EYES AND EARS are very valuable and could make a difference, in a split second. Put your damn phone up and pay attention to our surroundings and what's going on. She finally grasped the message and realized❤ that her warning or something she observed could be the best way to keep us out of trouble by giving me a heads up if I missed something or just added recon to keep our family safe. If something goes down, I'm on it, no questions, no hesitation. But HER also being actively vigilant and aware in certain scenarios is a huge help and it makes a difference.

I ran back down the four steps and got back into my car, started bit up and was backing out while calling the police He ran out of the breezeway, looked at me and ran, I tried to hit him with my car, but he ran in-between cars in the parking lot, until I list him as I was turning around, I drive to the gate and the cops was opening the gates coming bin They searched but he got away. Afyer Tha he leasing office put up bright lights all around the building( the other lights close to the bldg were OK, but these were much better These went up that week So, I know what she means about not hearing any door close, or people talking , etc So, I knew he was not a visitor And I knew he didn't live in my bldg bc I knew my neighbors

When you're the victim of an ambush situation like this, it doesn't matter how many times you've gone to the range to practise your aim - you _are_ going to miss a _lot_ of your shots. And that's okay because in those situations the goal isn't precise placement of shots, it's volume of fire to get the attacker to think again, to run away or duck and not shoot at _you_ - suppression is a thing that even modern armies do for a _reason_ ... because it's effective. And it will often give you the time you need to _then_ start placing accurate shots. Anyone who has watched any kind of real-life military footage online and seen an actual ambush from the point of view of the targets/victims will see overwhelming suppression fire is the first response, and that is used to then figure out _where_ the attack is coming from and _only then_ more accurate shots are sent their way. Bit hard to do that when you've emptied your gun before suppression effect works, or it's worked but now you have no bullets _to_ put out more precise shots to end the threat. So yeah, even though I don't even live in a country with lots of guns I totally see your logic in the arguement against limits on magazine capacity.

I would defiantly not rule out a set-up, but that is not really enough to know for sure. Her friend could just want to get back to the apartment so she is walking faster. It is possible she did not even notice her friend drew her weapon. Some people are just always in their phone and not paying attention. I could walk around naked and only about 20% of the people around me would notice. Again though, not ruling the set-up hypothesis out at all.

You are really good in breaking down a common-sense dangerous situation. The woman in this situation, Alexandra, did the right thing and listened to her instincts. Great job. If your life is in danger, defend yourself.

Situational awareness, absolutely correct. I can't pay much, but I can always pay attention. Get off the phone folks and know what and who is around you. Be safe out there. Big respects for this young gal.

Back many years ago, ever bar allowed us to hat check our guns/pistols when we entered and they just gave us back our guns when we left the bar. Most people drove to the bars and usually left their guns in the car; but half the people were local and walked to the bar. The bar owners understood the need for our safety.

@@TheWalterKurtz I have done that, you are correct. Being forced to drink at home because outside is too dangerous? I have done that too. Then I learned Kung Fu back in 1976. I train and teach guns and that since. Never killed anyone while in uniform.

I use to work at a bar as a coat check girl in the late 80s. Many "mafia" still not in jail would check their coats with me. I had a seperate section for their coats. Aka coats with guns lol theirs and sometimes even off duty cops who didn't want to wear their gun in the bar. Reason a seperate section... I had to be able to hand the coats out fast if their was a fight lol 😆 true story. I miss the 80s.

@@TheWalterKurtz it is but if you decide its too dangerous to even go outside then things gotta change. Cause if you just stay home and shut down then the criminals win and so do the politicians

❤ exactly! It's crazy that there are those who would leave us defenseless. So happy for these ladies. ❤
