Hey kids, word of warning about the mulch piles: be sure to churn or move those piles once a week. If you let them go, they may generate enough heat to start themselves on fire. This can become a bigger issue if they get wet.

Ryegrass is worse grass seed you can use. When it matures, grows foxtails, hard on dogs, the ffoxtails can get in their feet, ears, etc, then a big vet bill! It dies in the fall.

People don't realize you can't plant stuff with that kind of Mulch down. It's not good Mulch. It has to sit for a year+ if you want to plant there, otherwise you have to move it. The guy that did my property said you need to let it cook for a year or so before it's good Mulch. If you want grass, clear the Mulch off, plant the seed and cover with straw to hold moisture. So people saying stuff about moving Mulch need to understand how it is. Thr place 8s looking soooooo good. God bless you both and keep you safe

Perennial ryegrass prefers full-sun, but it will put up with partial shade. If you find that it doesn't grow under the trees, try St. Augustine grass. It does well for Southern regions and does well in shaded areas. Between the pines that can inhibit grass growth (turns the the soil more acidic), it's more difficult to grow grasses, if they don't get enough sunshine. Looking good!

Ideally you would let the Bermuda come in naturally. If it's already growing it will spread quickly with no seed cost. Typically thrives south of I-40 but I think you're close enough. It survives in the winter and the animals love it. The advantage to leaving the mulch on the ground is it will retain your moisture during the dry times and provide habitat for beneficial fungi.

Good job guys, If you put the goats in the area with the trees and what little underbrush is there they will clean up. Then you can see just what needs to be removed. It will be a process but well worth it. Lookin GREAT! Good Job Outlaw! Try rolling the seed, sometimes you can rent a roller or Jason you could make something that will press the seed down to make better contact with the soil, helps germination. A large pipe that you run a chain thru and pull with the tractor would work. OR find some old straw or hay and cover it sparceley to help it retain the moisture.

You know I can see the alure of this new property, it's really nice a lot nicer than the other property..... I'm a Oklahoma resident for a long long longggggg time , I can tell ya you need to get your property corner post in A.S.A.P. just to be safe in the long run , after you get your corner property post in then you can run your fance any where , corner post establishes your property lines/boundaries ...... this protects you and since you'll be making this your home 🏡 it gives you much needed protection ! The area where I grew up as a kid is Rush Springs the watermelon capitol of the world 🌎 😆, I will say if you've never been ya'll need to check it out , 2nd weekend in August, and yes there is a spring there and you can load up on the fresh spring water right out the ground . If ya'll want more info just let me know .

In regards to the barn you worked hard on. I recently was watching a different vlog channel where a guy was taking apart a building he wanted to keep that was a lot like the barn. The metal outside but real walls inside and roof rafters. He had help of course but he took the metal pieces off first and numbered each one for puting back together. Then cut the walls in pieces to move on the back of A trailer like you have. All numbers as well for easy building back. Seems easy for your barn as well since you can easier. No walls inside. Just the framing. PLEASE READ and THINK ABOUT IT.

The higher you stack the wood chips the hotter they will get, and cook down to some great compost for your garden. Also if you use the wood chips for your barn floor (the deeper the better), it will soak up all the animal waste and smell while turning it into black gold compost. When you want to turn the wood chips in the barn sneak in one night and bury a few ears of corn and the pigs will root it all over to get to the corn. 👍🙂

Jason: "We don't wanna bore you all with just moving mulch, etc."....are you kidding? Okay, Jason. Danielle. Let me 'splain sumpin to y'all. Some of us (possibly quite a lot of us) have to, for various reasons, live vicariously through you. When you do the clearing of the trees and undergrowth and moving the mulch and everything else to transform that land into a workable, liveable piece of art, AND show it on camera, I feel like I'm right there with you. What you're doing has always been a lifelong dream, of mine, but I've never had the ability (both physically and financially) to do it. I've watched a few others, but the way you guys are going about it is, IMO, the best I've seen! Sure, a lot could've been done with those 60 acres...IF you had a better avenue for electricity and water. Since that's no longer a viable option, you've done the next best thing. And, to be honest with you, 10, or so, acres is the ideal size unless you planned on turning out a major business like a huge farm or build a factory, etc. In fact, I still look for between 5-20 acres at a cheap, CHEAP price so that I can have a place to go plinking with my .22s without having to pay a membership fee or be tied to just shooting at paper. I want a whole slew of different types of targets, even tannerite, to shoot at, dang it! lol Please! Keep these kinds of videos coming. Honestly, I, for one, would prefer to see many more action videos over just the talking ones. Those are nice, but I was starting to get a bit antsy, if you know what I mean. If you know, you know, right?🤪 BTW: A grove of trees is FAR better than woods with tons of undergrowth. If I were you, I'd clear out ALL of that undergrowth and little saplings and deadwood leaving just the 6" diameter and larger trees. Then fill the ground with grass that grows great in shaded areas. Would be absolutely stunning! Of course, we all have different opinions and maybe you like tripping over twigs and having branches smack you in the face as you're trying to navigate the "woods" and maybe you don't mind the thousands of various types of creepy-crawlies and pest insects that habitate such places. That's not for me. As an insight to why...chiggers LOVE me! I don't love them, though but, they don't seem to care.😐

A great surprise to find Outlaw there to clear more trees out. It’s beginning to open up nicely. Keep the mulch in a dry plea for garden and flower beds, or even to floor the barn.. good top soil is being scraped up with that mulch.. the mulch can be racked with the tractor best. Don’t loose the top soil. It’s precious!
