I've just started watching you here in US...so sorely needed something comforting and just -- WONDERFUL. ...and I found YOU! I love watching the british vids on allotment gardening and then one day, you popped up in the mix! I have been so happy ever since and look forward so much to each of your vids. Have since had a little kitten literally WALK into my own life since finding you (??) Named him Kitt. Love your entire life there on your farm, it reminds me so much of my own with my grandmother following her around milking the cow, feeding and hatching 'biddies', making butter---she was up before dawn and in my dusk. Thank you so much for bringing back such good memories. You have such a beautiful life there. And your creativity is amazing! Will definitely keep watching!!!

kreta graves that is so lovely! Thank you for sharing those memories of your grandmother, I’ve had a full on life but just this last few years it’s felt so good to slow everything right down and concentrate on the day to day things that give me joy. I started sharing them here almost by accident, but now I really love the connections I am making all around the world. Ahhh, and you have Kitt! It’s so lovely having a cat to care for. I’m not so sure about having four sometimes, but I don’t know who I would be without! Thank you so much for calling by to say hi. I’m enjoying making these little videos, so I’ll be sticking around for a while! Xxxx 😊❤️🍂🌿

So glad you're sticking around. I find myself going to my youtube looking for your channel DAILY! You just bring a much appreciated calmness into my now very chaotic and stressful life. I love how you film your life and "doings" there in the north, I love English countryside and you bring it right to my door and to my breakfast table--the scone episode was DELICIOUS! It was almost like we were having them together on a chilly afternoon. I show Kitt your brood and how well behaved they are....he's a bit of a "biter" he is. I learn so much from you and enjoy each episode immensely. Carry on!

kreta graves you, and other lovely comments from more sweet people, well it motivates me to keep posting. I really enjoy thinking up new topics and making and editing little moments from my life. Thank you. So very much. I hope the stress eases for you xxxx

@@kretagraves8352 Kitties show affection by nibbling on their humans. It is also a request for more picking up and pets and snuggles. "more please" ))) Unless there is growling and all four feet worth of claws.... that's "Stop stop stop I've had too many touchings and it will take me DAYYYYYS to get my fur just right again" come back later..

Hi from Missouri, USA! I noticed you are lifting your pot lids straight up when checking on the food. My mother & grandmother were strict that you never ever lift a lid straight up on a boiling pot. An excellent way to get a steam burn. They always said lift the lid slightly away from you to direct the steam toward the back of the stove and then use the lid as a shield until the steam dissipates.

I love the way you cook. I always have trouble following a recipe exactly as well. Sometimes your instincts or cravings influence what you’re making. This looks fabulous.

I had not heard of leaf beet! I will have to try that recipe. Love Jaime Oliver and he one of his cookbooks! I'll look and see if that's in there! I love the way you pronounce cashew nut. I get so tickled! It sounds like a sneeze! I adore your accent. I have a Southern accent and have always been teased for. I like the tea towel trick for the brown rice too!

Use the back of your knife, Kate. Use the back edge to scrape things into your pot or whatever-using the cutting edge dulls it.

I would have done the same, cashews & coconut, yummy. Maybe add a few raisins too. Don't like aubergine but, i love Patak's lime pickle so would go with that. Thankfully, i ate just before watching this, otherwise i'd be having a serious craving for this.

Trisha Walsh useful to know, for some reason I just had yellow and black seeds - maybe left over from pickling last year? I think curry is supposed to be tinkered about with. My nephew is the best curry cook I know. I’ll ask him if I can film him when he visits this summer!!!! ❤️😊🌿

I love to see another woman that cooks like I do. Now you have made me hungry for some curry, I was following along with the recipe and I have everything except the last ingredient (pickles). Seemed like an awful lot of carbs for someone who can't eat a lot of them but hey ho just have to adapt it!! Also I have the spinach leaves which I do so love in my salads. xx Angela
@thelasthomelyhouse6 жыл бұрын
Angela10226 leave out the potatoes and add in more veg of the sort you can eat, and have it without rice, Curry is perfect for adapting like that! Xxx

Marie Currie I do pay attention to the audio and do a voice over if I think it’s not good enough, I might have to research a Bluetooth mic as that five foot lead on the one I got drives me crazy when I forget I have it on and walk off!!!! Thanks for saying that though. 😊 I always start by checking out Jamie when I want a recipe, and rarely have to look elsewhere. He’s my kind of cook, and I like how concerned he is for good quality food. 🌿❤️😊

Kate, you make me laugh. When I am exhausted it's a bowl of canned soup or tub of frozen soup I've made, plus two slices of bread I've frozen. ( homemade) You cook up a feast after feeling exhausted!

Sounds yummy. Wish I could’ve heard the additives better. Some ingredient names I’m not familiar with and couldn’t catch it on the vid. I think your Leaf Beet is our Swiss Chard, better than spinach I think and certainly easier to grow. Rainbow Chard is becoming quite popular now! Did you add Cashews (nuts)?? Sure looks tasty. Thanks for sharing it.
@thelasthomelyhouse6 жыл бұрын
Cyn Forest I’m so sorry about the sound - the little mic I got is fine if I’m sitting down, but the lead is only 5feet and I can’t walk about when I’m using it, I think Susan linked to the recipe - thank you Susan - I added a few cashew nuts and a little tin of coconut cream - but curries are like that - you should add whatever you like!!! I grew rainbow chard and leaf beet plus a couple if spinach plants, the first two are easier to grow by far and taste great. 🌿❤️😊

The Last Homely House East of the Sea Thank you, Kate! I got everything except wasn’t too sure about the cashews. Sure sounds tasty. I used to make curry all the time back in the day. Christine Preston no, I didn’t 😫 the stupid lead is only 5feet long and it drives me bonkers when I try to film when I’m moving about. If I’m going to carry on doing this, and I really do enjoy it - I’m going to have to investigate a better way to record - you should see the ridiculous lengths I go to getting the iPad lined up !!!!!!! Research needed!!!!!! 🌿❤️😊

Please carry on Kate...your life is so interesting....but would love to hear you a little bit better...maybe your children can help you...with some more gadgets??? xxx
@thelasthomelyhouse6 жыл бұрын
Christine Preston I do like a gadget. 😂😂 my kids are a bit dumbfounded by the channel to be honest - they already think I’m bonkers, this just confirms it. No, asking them..... that’s a bit of a dead end to be honest! 😂😂😂 But I do watch a lot of videos about how to improve the channel - they are mostly aimed at young zappy kids not old fogies like me who just witter on and on! The channel is growing really slowly, but that is how I’d prefer it - because then, I think, they are people who really want to be here and the sort of folk I’d like to have a coffee with. But for distance, I’d do this with people in the real world. But how fabulous to shrink the world to the size of my iPad screen !!! I will continue to learn, make mistakes and have a laugh!!!! 😂😊❤️🌿 Thank you for your support! Xxxxxx
