Damn dude. Great video. I would like to know what to look for if your pump is the problem. Would it be cracked? Leaking? Will it appear open when it’s suppose to be closed?

God help me lol I have a 2013 ram 1500 4.7L. I have a p0455/check fuel cap light on. I have replaced the fuel cap twice with a mopar one, leak detection pump twice with a Chrysler one from dodge and purge valve. Still have the dang p0455. Hoses all look fine I’ve traced them from tank forward. Wonder if my ecu is just dumb.

Yo just spray the damn hoses with soapy water, anywhere a bubble forms there's a leak. Old farmer hack
@The_Gallowglass9 ай бұрын
You can also put a hose to the evap line and blow cigar or cigarette smoke in, or use a cheap $10 pump.

exactly I use my modded vape box just turned up my hit it hard and blow some berry ice vape juce vapor through it found a crack in one of the hoses right away @@The_Gallowglass

@@The_Gallowglassexactly i found a split in the hose coming off the charcoal canister my dad use to do cigar smoke so figured it would work the same by using my vape blow some mixed berry ice vape juice through it lol and seen it come right out at the first bend figured all the vacuum lines under the hood was kinda dry rotted replaced those cleared the code the gas cap was already replaced and it would built pressure can hear the his when you open the gas cap after replacing it, so the rest must be in the hoses under the truck also and sure enough there it was, I use to just use dry ice and water in a soda bottle but no one sells dry ice around me no more but yup figured it out with pretty much what you said

I kept getting a small evap leak detected. I changed the purge valve, the pressure sensor/vent valve, and the gas cap. Then I kept getting gas cap code with the brand new one intermittently. Now I have a large evap code.

Computers in cars was so dumb these damn chips think if the car is worn everything is wrong so here’s a CEL no matter what
@SR-ks7ho6 күн бұрын
there are some hoses above the charcoal canisters are hard to see that deteriorate and crack that leak, also some hoses along the side from the canisters to the engine also deteriorate that also must be changed

Got po455 code and is engine stall everywhere now another code come up p1128 change both oxygen sensor but still stall
@debsalady27 ай бұрын
Would this code have anything to do with a high pitched whistle and or my truck stalling out and sputtering?
@HVAC_Mechanic7 ай бұрын
Usually, no, but if the purge valve is stuck open, it can cause the engine to run badly sometimes. With the whistle noise, I would check for a vacuum leak. If you think the purge valve is bad, block the hose to the engine from the valve and see if it improves.

I have replaced everything. Literally everything and smoke tested twice gas cap, purge valve, wire, hoses, charcoal canister, and leak detection. End result p0455 still there. Dodge sucks
@Gary_in_NoVA8 ай бұрын
Did you replace the gas cap with an OEM Dodge one? I had a brand-new aftermarket one and the code went away when I got the OEM one.
@chadjohnson75448 ай бұрын
@Gary_in_NoVA yes sir two oem ones. Still has p0455. Still till this day fought this for a year now. Took it to dealer and 5 garages. And myself repairs. After drive cycles. Code pops up. Also brand new tank with integrated roll over valve and oem brand new fuel pump. I'm selling the peace of junk. Never again with a dodge.

@@chadjohnson7544 I remember getting that code, without any other symptoms, shortly before my ECU died (2002 B3500 van). Sounds like it might be your computer- I've gone through a few, but think I figured out why they kept dying (bad ignition coil).
