Something to add that could be cause of problem. Easiest solution, and most overlooked problem is a dirty air filter. Especially the CAI oiled filters like K&N. If you have a factory filter, just buy a new one. If you have a aftermarket oiled type filter, remove it and spray it with cleaner. Spray it from inside out with water hose, let completely dry, and reapply oil before installing.

Hi, I have that P0420 code on my ford and it came up after I drove 15 miles after oil and oil filter change-but I have used the same oil as usual. I added catcleaner to fuel and now I do 58 miles per gallon when before 52. I have just changed lambda co2 past-cat sensor and all 3 spark plugs and light is still on. My mechnanic did catalyst test and it would pass MTO so is it possible that catalyst needs to be replaced despite has passed MTO test ?

It is hard to say, but when a catalytic converter becomes clogged up, the engine will have less power than it once did. There are several tests that can be done to test the Cat. I would also test the 02 sensors with a scan tool to be sure there are no issues.

I experienced a problem when I was driving my Mustang, as the engine began to perform poorly, especially at low engine revs, in addition to difficulty starting, noting that there was no check engine light, but I opened the car and found that there were two codes p0430 and p0420 at the same time. I have a 2013 Ford Explorer xlt the code p0420 is registered on the computer, but it is not lit in the Dash. where is it located it's a 3.5 L V6. you said next to cylinder #1

I watch your viedo and others I got a p0420 code trust me buy the cat cleaner liquid you pour in your vehicle it's most none of these other clogged honey cone inside cat pour cleaner in it and watch the magic I done this drove normal 20 to 40 miles and following directions on can my vehicle on its on cleared the code I am sold on this liquid cat / exhaust cleaner u need try it for me it workes no more faults

OK I have a big question I drive a 2011 F150 with a coyote engine V8 I’ve replaced the Cadillac converters and I’ve also replaced several O2 sensors along with all the other necessary sensors and my vehicle but I still get the P0420 code. I’ve taken it to two mechanics and they tell me there’s nothing I can do but I’ve noticed a significant difference in power output and it just doesn’t drive the same. I don’t know what to do and at this point I’ll take any advice I can get. If anyone has an idea as to what I could try or something I could do please let me know.

I have a 2014 Ford F150 Lariat v6 ecoboost. I have changed the sensors on the driver side. My check engine light was on and went off after replacing them with new ones from Advanced Auto Parts. However, the light came back on after driving for a couple of days. Then it went off after I really smashed the gas. The next day, it came on again. I took it to a muffler shop as my mechanic suggested. After they ran their test, they said it is the Cadillac convert and the fuel pump is going bad. I have 150,000 miles on my truck. Has anyone else experience this issue and if so how do you fix the problem with the check engine light going on?

Why does it not matter on a 4 cyc? Cause I have bank 1 below and bank 2 is fine.

There is no bank-2 on a 4-cylinder engine; it will only have one bank.

Not always -- cat clean NOR 1 gallon of laquer thinner did anything EXCEPT now I have 420 and 430 codes plus 306 and 307 mis fire codes showed up 2012 6.2 133k miles lots of idle time on hour meter
