An engine misfire is when a cylinder has an incomplete combustion ignition or the absence of combustion in a cylinder.
Each cylinder needs the correct air-fuel mixture and spark to complete combustion.
If the vehicle only has a P0306 Code, then the components on that cylinder should be tested.
If there are other engine codes, then there may be other issues.
For example, multiple misfire codes can be caused by low fuel pressure, bad sensors, vacuum leak, and more.

i change my plug,my injectors,and coils,on my 08 dodge 1500 with the 5.7 in it what else could I check because it’s still throwing the P0306 code after doing everything you said to do in this video.. Could it be something on the inside the motor that is going bad I can get it up to 80 but it still spits and sputter.. But it also doesn’t have an exhaust on it.. it just coming from the manifold with about 3to4 ft of pipe on it.. I bought it that way just a few days ago but trying to figure out this problem.. PLEASE HELP

The things in the video are the most common causes, but there can be other things, mainly mechanical, such as a bad valve, cracked cylinder, engine deactivation solenoid, and more. To check for a cracked head, a leak-down test can be done, but since you have checked all the most common causes, it can be hard to troubleshoot.

I just took my 2002 Silverado 4.8L with a P0174 code, started idling rough, smell of gas, loss of power, took to a shop, told him I just replaced all spark plugs and wires and replaced evaporator canister on top of engine. With out looking under engine just going by sound, shouts out to me “ you need a new alternator, battery is showing on console “ I said no, alternator is new, anyways just called me & tells me it’s cylinder 6 misfire & I need a new engine. It has too many miles??? This truck is from Bay Area, the console was used parts & replaced old console when truck was stolen in Oakland. So the engine in truck has 188K miles although the dash says 268k. I guess I have to take it to another shop because he is trying to play me now. Can’t a cylinder be fixed alone ? And not have to replace the whole engine?

It is possible that there may be a crack in the head on that cylinder, a bad head gasket, a bad valve, or similar. If there is a crack or bad head gasket, a compression test would show it.

I have a p0306 code on my 2000 Buick century could it be injector ? I changed wires plugs and coils still idiling rough I changed the egr as well first when I scanned it was a p0300 then the next day I scanned it then it gave me a p0306 so ik it’s cylinder 6 but I’m confused on if it’s the injector
