Try to buy a battery and the price was 160. 00 dollars. I read about the engine size 1.8 and the battery size & numbers - # 48 - 49. I purchased a 48 for 60.00 dollar brand new. The battery scam is on 🔥 fire.

my 2017 silverado is showing code P2101 and says throttle actuator position performance. should i replace the whole throttle?

It could be a bad throttle body, but it can also be something else; it needs to be diagnosed, and parts tested. I would start by checking throttle body fuses. Chevy usually has it labeled Throttle Control.

I have a question about maintenance in general. I have a 2000 silverado as an example. I have put in a new transmission and new engine and a new rear end and a new radiator. All this was various years ago. How do I determine what to maintain next? Should I wait till I hear stuff sounding weird (already going on) . What is a good strategy for doing the most important thing, or at least checking on it first? I have basically lost my place in the maintenance story. I have the chilton manual for this truck if that helps?

Each vehicle has a rated maintenance based on miles. The main things would be oil changes every 3000 miles on older vehicles and 5000 miles on newer vehicles, along with the air filter. I also would replace the transmission fluid and filter every 40,000-50,000 miles. Every 50,000 miles or so, a basic tune-up can be done, such as checking spark plugs, belts, brake pads, and so on.

I have a question sir. My 18 silverado is having issues. Battery replaced. Tested today and gave that code. Issues im having is that my battery is being drained to 10 volts while the key is off. But not all the time time, more so than not though. Windows while key is off drains the battery quickly. Any hel9 would be much appreciated

It needs to be tested to see if it has an issue. Mainly the small DC motor that opens the butterfly plate.

my service engine light popped on got a test done and it came back with the code P2101 can it be fixed with just a cleaning or do i have to replace it?

what about going through some water. i went through a little creek and about half mile this code P2101 came up my truck got real sluggish and the traction control light and the engine light came on

Water can cause issues if it gets in the wrong place. Hopefully, it clears up once things dry out.

@@deanrock4331 My case was something up with the battery connections so the ECU registered it as something being faulty but it just wasn't getting power properly. cleaned some contacts and reattached to the battery, been fine since
