Imagine the passengers choosing the plane because "the most dangerous part of the trip is in the taxi to the airport" and hearing their captain calmly admit "My safe abort point is brakes release. After that I don't know if I can even stop."

Hahaha, yeah, it's a little different, isn't it?. There's a strip called Dusin which is about ninety odd miles west of Madang whis=ch has a special character. Usually, you're pretty much committed to go after you leave the parking area because there's often so much algae growth on the strip, you're likely to slither off down the runway if you try to stop under brakes. On approach, if you look to your left as you approach the threshold for landing, you can see the coral formations which have been heaved up thousands of feet over time. An amazing place to fly.

Not for the faint hearted that flight, from that insane sloped runway takeoff to finding your way through those clouds! Fantastic flying as always Ryan, that was sure worth waiting for👍

Absolutely amazing APP and Landing. Loved the "at the burn patch turn final" reference. Only bush pilots understand such things. Bush Pilots are an incredible, talented group of pilots -- you particularly. 😉

Ryan, Great takeoff on that roller coaster runway, valleys looking good, a little cloud around, then a little tailwind & a downhill runway thrown in for fun. Great video, Thanks for the ride

I don’t usually follow anything or anyone - but I do enjoy your videos - I love how you classify what a normal person would call death defying or scary as hell - you call it “interesting” mountain runway “always exciting” I’d have to wear a pamper. Anyway - a note of thanks - I find you’re travels exciting and the work you do just make all the difference to those you serve. So, thanks again for sharing, I’d feel very safe with you at the wheel..? Is that what it’d be called?? Safe travels friend and best wishes from CANADA!

Just wow. Found your channel by watching a lot of msfs 2020 tutorials. First I thought it looks like in the sim.. but correctly is to say the sim looks like the real life. (or very close to it ;-)) Really cool. Thx for sharing your job with that number of cams and do cutting and do all the explanations while you flying. really amazing.

The pilot often refers to 'knowing how his own brain works' re: things he knows he won't remember, and things he knows he won't notice, and so has a 'fix' for those instances ... and in real-time. This is healthy in that you fend off the uncomfortable feeling of 'second guessing' yourself. I know I said all of this awkwardly, but I hope I conveyed the thought.

This s not unique. The airport in Berea KY used to be a grass strip on a hillside. Up hill to land, down hill to depart. Big stand of trees at low end. Large 2 story house at end of runway at high end. About 2200 feet in length.

I gotta admit Ryan I work in a dangerous place myself but trying to control that plane would scare me even though i love flight you make it look so easy and like it’s another day on the job but with using the simulator I’ve learned it’s not easy and you need to know what you’re doing the first time or your done. You could have been a good Navy pilot if your not a veteran already
