Merry Christmas! Wax paper user here...when I was grade school age in the 60s, my mom's best friend worked in a factory that made plastic wrap and she always said to us, "if you saw what went into plastic, you would never use it on your food." That being said, we only wrapped in waxed paper and aluminum foil.

Hi Gary! I can't imagine what goes into all that plastic wrap. We have enough plastic in our world - wax paper is a nice alternative and much healthier!

I use wax paper all the time many uses I even use it to line the bottom of my cake pans like my grandmother did especially when I'm out of parchment paper Works beautifully

There's something so festive about Christmas prep and the things we do only then. I loved the pregnant walnuts gaffe and it's a bit like the Shweddy Ball sketch on SNL they replay every year. I also keep wax paper on hand and use it mostly to cover things in the microwave. Bourbon balls are one thing my mom never made, being a non-drinker. I hope you, Ralph and Marianne have a wonderful New Year.

Yes to wax paper and also aluminum foil 'non stick' version - Thanks for the easy instructions, Kevin, from your vintage workshop, making recipes I wouldnt have attempted possible.

I used to make bourbon balls at Christmas time. They were always a hit. They definitely benefit from being made a couple of days ahead. The strong bourbon flavor softens and I think they become much more delicious. I like the idea of making them using gingersnaps. Thanks for another great recipe! Merry Christmas Kevin!

I use wax paper all the time, to roll out pie crusts, to line cake pans and to put flour or bread crumbs out for breading meats. Do you remember premade wax sandwich bags? I miss those.
