Sid, I have no idea 🤷♂️ how in the world you do this. I am dead serious. It’s one thing to go down in caves that you can walk in while standing up-right the entire time. Or, go down in some caves that you may have to stoop over for a good long ways which is definitely not good for your back as we get older. But it’s an entirely different arena when you go down in these caves that you guys go in, that for all intents and purposes, the opening that you are crawling through, appears to be, no bigger than our residential Dryer doors or, washing machine door top or the side door washing machines over here. The reason I say it like this is years ago one of the many times that I was in the port of Glasgow, I met an absolutely wonderful SCOTTISH LADY, so beautiful, full of class. and over that weekend, and all the other times my ship was in port, we dated. And her washer / dryer stacked on top of one another, and they was the smallest things I have ever seen! I am dead serious Sid. Up until that time, it wasn’t until about 10 years later I didn’t see anything like that again until over here in the states. I was at a home furnishing expo in the Colosseum of Billings Montana. And they had some that looked exactly like the ones that Nessa owned. I was in the equivalent of the British Merchant Navy. I worked for www.amo-union.org/ during my entire career. I retired as a, “Relief Captain / First Mate, Chief Mate. Both titles concerning the Mate, is one and the same. And the 2 separate titles, Captain / Chief Mate, means that I would be very willing to sail on any vessel in either position. Might surprise you to know that not many men back when I went to Sea, that reached either of the levels would ever do that. A Captain 👨✈️, would never do what is called moving-down. Which would be beneath most of them, because they have such a big ego. I didn’t. I come from blue collar working class good Christian folks. My father had been in the Navy back during the Korean War and he retired, as a Captain. But he didn’t go to the Naval Academy, or the Merchant Marine Academy. Which is the back-door way to getting into the Navy with an officers rank. Because the Merchant Marine Academy, is a four-year Academy and it’s patterned along the lines of our naval academy. He worked his way up, took / passed all the requisite exams and, happened to be in the right place at the right time he told me. Off and on during his life time. In closing, you make absolutely stunning!!! Caving videos!! They actually should be titled, “EXTREME-CAVING”. Btw = by the way from the videos I’ve watched from years ago, do some of the men and women from back then that you was friends with, do they still go in the caves??

I am shocked as to they knew the dangers of diving without a safety line but finding there line coverd in muck that they dove without laying a new line higher on the cave wall...

Around 5 mins into the narration a major technical blunder is apparent. Using air instead of Oxygen would have negligible effect on narcosis (as mis-stated), but Oxygen toxicity can occur as shallow as 20ft for pure O2 (PO2=1.6), whereas the equivalent depth for Air toxicity (21%O2) is 225ft in fresh water. CNS Toxicity causing seizures is the limiting factor, not narcosis which is only a significant factor much below 100ft.

"Caverns measureless to man!" www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/43991/kubla-khan This is a favourite somewhat tongue-in-cheek quote for cavers. Basically it's a desire to explore, to see what's round the next corner and if you're lucky to go somewhere nobody has been before. Some caves have stunningly beautiful formations too.

@@johnapples2018 the need to explore is a basic human instinct. It's part of our shared humanity. Part of our greatness and hubris. Risk and reward. Shall we also be fearful of outer space? No. There will always be explorers and those willing to push the limit. It's how we evolve.

I get tired of hearing people say that these people have a death wish, crazy, stupid etc. Also that 'its frightening, I'd never do that, this should be banned etc'. If everyone was wrapped in cotton wool humans would never achieve anything. If your smart, listen to the rules, do go do stupid stuff... you'll generally be OK. Driving down the highway and someone having worked a double shift coming the other way scares me way more than something that is totally within my control. People are off their heads.
