The song actually has two names due to an incorrect translation (much like what happened to Porky Minch in the English translation for Earthbound); It is both known as Cliff Walk and Pier Walk. I understand this song is unused, as that is why I labeled the video for "Cave Story Beta".

It seems Quote either beared his robot girlfriend's name in the beta, or he borrowed her hat. I also wonder if the bearded man seen on the pictures is Professor Booster, or the Doctor. Maybe he originally was intended to start as a nice guy that turns evil through the demon crown. It's hard to tell if that women is Sue or her mother. They also look like a family on that picture.

Do you have any idea what level this was used for? I'm thinking it was used for the plantation, maybe, or the jail level was supposed to be a much larger level, with enemies and such in it, and this was the theme for it. Or maybe the balcony, who knows?

You could think of it that way, kind of (in terms of the setting: a floating island). But there is a lot that distinguishes itself from Undertale. If you have not played Cave Story and are a fan of games like the Metroid series (the 2D Metriod games specifically, or "Metroidvanias" as they're often called) I highly recommend it. Have you noticed that the soundfont here is the same as "Another Medium" from Undertale? Toby Fox used the Cave Story soundfont in that song as an homage to Cave Story (since Cave Story originally released way back in 2004). Daisuke Amaya essentially created Cave Story by himself (with very little help), including the coding of his own music system and soundfont (called Organya with .org as the file names). Cave Story and Undertale are like my two favorite games of all time. :D
