Admittedly, I only accessed the Sanctuary for the first and last time today. I'd finally decided I would give it my all, and get the best ending. I died. A lot. However, my first try did go surprisingly well. Got to the first miniboss then said fuck it and took a break until tommorow. I swear to god Cave Story, you will not go unbeaten by me.

Never understood why this was Curly's theme. It makes more sense for this to maybe be the Doctor's or Ballos's theme, maybe even Quote's theme (though I prefer Moonsong or Gestation, or at a stretch Geothermal for Quote)

The themes, I believe, are for the people who died in cave story, being Toroko, KIng, and Curly (KInda), so that is why no one else, like Ballos or The Doctor, has a theme. I still think that labyrinth fight should have been Curly's theme though. (It play's like, right before she can die, so, yeah) (I still don't know why booster does not have a theme though...)

iirc, when Running Hell was first composed, Quote and Curly's names were switched from the final iteration, but the name of the song was never updated to match, so it's technically actually Quote's theme anyway. but that might have just been fan theory, i forget if it ever had proof

nope. fourth ending, the dog interupts balrog and both tokoro and king survive, they are teleported to the plantation, if you give the cure all to booster he will fix the teleporter and let you skip the core fight, look up the 4th ending TAS speedrun

I remember on my second play through, I looked up how to get the best ending, and I thought, "Well, I beat it the first time... I can put it on original" (I was using Cave Story+). That was idiotic. Because I had to go through Hell (Blood Stained Sanctuary), and I had no idea that it was gonna be SO. FREAKING. HARD. And I was on Original... that was stupid. Took me a month of playing Cave Story every chance I got.
