I swear, this game evoked a more emotional response from me than any game I've ever played. Really kind of puts most of the big budget games to shame when you realize an indie game written by one person somehow outdoes the storytelling of 90% of the games on the market.

I really really like this song, but there's something it's trying to say to me that I can't quite pick out. It might be something like "we have a story to tell you and you're gonna have a lot of fun hearing it". Something about it being the first thing you hear when you launch the game and those dark rolling clouds set against the moon is really compelling to me and gets me excited to come back to this game again and again. Underrated gem of a videogame.

The last part is actually a good one- you can set up any of the "_loop" tracks for an infinite loop, and the repeat would be imperceptible. I find Winamp to be best at looping the files with little to no delay.

If you follow Daisuke's work closely, he only showed these cutscenes when it was either essential to the story, or when the player needed a hint to know where to go. We don't know how long you were unconscious, and that wasn't actually goodbye. If you have gotten the best ending, you would know she isn't actually dead, and that's the point. The player is meant to QUESTION if she is dead or not. That scene changes depending if you have or have not played the game before (continued)

The timing of that moment is perfect because new players do not want to go through all that button pressing and fight that boss again- not knowing how long it will take. "Ok, I will see if I can come back for her later." and then the player is shocked to see the chamber lock. In fact, that is what's so genius about it. The player is forbidden from saying goodbye and the game does not wait to forgive you. It cuts through you like a knife. You DID know she isn't actually dead, right?
