hello. I just wanna point out how great this song is: the rhythm used in the chorus (where every instrument plays these two, loud hits) is a common rhythm in rock music. It‘s usually meant to remind the listeners of heartbeats. But it’s almost always used for something dramatic or sad like in heart shaped box for example. but in this song it’s used for something sweet and positive and I never realized how good heartbeats suit a positive meaning.

Here's my take on it : Sweet tooth by Cavetown Yellow flowers represent friendship. In every relationship you'll be in whether its romantic or platonic there should be friendship always. Seeing how the flowers are being covered by sprinkles and syrup is trying to either make it better but in the process ruining what's already significant and beautiful. So the relationship you have, you try your best to make it better but it actually makes it worse. But towards the you realize your relationship with that person was already perfect to them, hence why it all rewinds. So in conclusion, I think its about how we try our hardest to make and improve something better for the other person. Whether it's platonic or romantic. And at the end, they love you for who you are so you don't have to add the excess junk to make your relationship, yourself beautiful when it already had beauty. The lyrics helped very much to show what love really means as well as the visual of the video. Both explained Sweet tooth perfectly But that's my interpretation, so sorry for long rant 😅

i MIGHT just be projecting, but here’s my take: this song is about being arospec and not experiencing love as you “should.” “Feeling sick of myself Think I'll try to be someone else Can't be hard to paint a person In my head create a version The parallel Pull my head out the sand Try as hard as I can” This whole section feels like pretending to be someone else, to love how you’re not meant to. “Pull my head out of the sand / Try as hard as I can” could refer to putting yourself out there aka going on dates and trying to secure a relationship. “Never had a cavity / Never had nobody as sweet as you” could refer to never having a good relationship like this before. “Smoother on the edges, good as new / Gently into it, every rendez-vous” seems to say the relationship was accommodating, and didn’t force him into loving or acting a certain way. And the video? Yellow roses represent friendship, white ones represent purity and innocence (not sure about the other one). Drizzling them with syrup, burying them with glitter and sprinkles - it all represents efforts to force aromantic/queerplatonic/alterous/etc love to be like “normal” romantic love. I feel like this song is purely sweet (hahaha): A person has pretty low self-esteem, trying their best to meet social expectations. Their friend keeps telling them over & over again that they are perfect just the way are. This causes the person to develop a ‘sweet tooth’ for their friend, loving the way that their friend supports them & propels them upward. Yet because of this insecurity, they want their friend to know that they’re just friends (‘I _like_ you’) & want their friend to ‘say it back’. Visually, the flowers are the person, trying to be everything society wants them to be, even if it means suffocating themselves under their own facade (the syrup & the sprinkles). The rewinding is their friend telling them that they’re perfect, & by the end of the song they’ve come to accept themselves as they are. Kudos, Robbie. Kudos.

I was in a bad mood because i made a note confessing to my crush but im scared what they'll do with it and seeing that u uploaded made my day and i cried. ♡ Edit: so here’s what happened. I made an anonymous note and put it on his desk. For one who,e day, he didn’t do anything with it. The next day, his friends asked what it was and they told him to show the teacher. The teacher embarrassed me in front everyone and read it out loud and told everyone she knew who it is. I don’t know who she thinks it is but one of his friends aren’t a good person and they were spreading rumours abt who wrote it. Only one of my friends knew and they told ppl they knew who. That meant everyone instantly knew I wrote it. I denied everything but some ppl still think i did it. The teacher said he was uncomfortable with the note. That kinda signaled me into thinking he didn’t like me. Ik for a fact he used to tho. That made me sad but oh well. being asexual doesn't mean you don't have romantic feelings for somebody. thats aromantic, which also doesn't mean you can't have sexual feelings. if you identify as either, you'll more likely than not know that. maybe you're looking for someone who's asexual but unclear about what that means, or an aromantic person who stopped being aromantic.
