If a blind black man born in 1930s Georgia can love his country with this much passion, then there's no reason most of us can't.

There was only one night game a year. On the Fourth of July, the whole sky would brighten up with fireworks, giving us just enough light for a game. We played our best then because, I guess, we all felt like the big leaguers under the lights of some great stadium. Benny felt like that all the time. We all knew he was gonna go on to bigger and better games, because every time we stopped to watch the sky on those nights like regular kids, he was there to call us back. You see, for us, baseball was a game. But for Benjamin Franklin Rodriguez, baseball was life.

What makes America so incredible is the people within it, not the ones who govern them. The declaration of Independence is why, and the Constitution is how we keep Americans free from tyranny. If other countries were a democratic republic with a free market economy, we'd see them become almost as incredible as our country is. We can thank our founding fathers for developing the greatest place in the world.

America was created by people like you, Sir. We are a nation of outcasts, and immigrants. People from every other land on Earth. But all, are Americans. Together, as one People. And that, is our true strength, and our pride. We're not perfect. Far from it. We are an ongoing experiment in Democracy. An experiment that will never end, but that with God's Grace, will continue, as we hand down our Nation to the next generation, with the admonishment to improve upon our labors, and create that, "more perfect Union".

Tried to see Mr. Charles in every town we lived in but was never successful. Then I was blessed and got front row center for one of his concerts. He closed with this song. If you showed up and this was the only song he performed you would not have felt cheated. God bless.

I don't believe I've ever heard of anyone else only Ray singing America the Beautiful. Every time I hear this song by Ray I feel the love of God and his grace upon me. America is the only chosen country other than Israel in the world, it is here for a reason. It is to be a righteous country. God has promised us if we would only remember Him and repent He would protect this nation . The United States is a nation under God and when that changes we will be destroyed as a nation. I believe we are in the beginning stages now.

Oh beautiful, for heroes proved, In liberating strife, Who more than self, our country loved, And mercy more than life, America, America, may God thy gold refine, Till all success be nobleness And every gain devined. And you know when I was in school, We used to sing it something like this, listen here: Oh beautiful, for spacious skies, For amber waves of grain, For purple mountain majesties, Above the fruited plain, But now wait a minute, I'm talking about America, sweet America, You know, God done shed his grace on thee, He crowned thy good, yes he did, in a brotherhood, From sea to shining sea. You know, I wish I had somebody to help me sing this (America, America, God shed his grace on thee) America, I love you America, you see, My God he done shed his grace on thee, And you oughta love him for it, Cause he, he, he, he, crowned thy good, He told me he would, with brotherhood, (From sea to shining sea). Oh Lord, oh Lord, I thank you Lord (Shining sea).

modoc97405 Two things: one, do you have nothing better than to harass everybody who says God bless America, and two, this is a direct quote from John Adams: “The Second Day of July 1776, will be the most memorable Epocha, in the History of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated, by succeeding Generations, as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated, as the Day of Deliverance by solemn Acts of Devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with Pomp and Parade, with Shews, Games, Sports, Guns, Bells, Bonfires and Illuminations from one End of this Continent to the other from this Time forward forever more.”
