If you do another one of these look at game rules. You can disable the day night cycle which will give you a more consistent image.

so how does waterproofing work with a modern cavity wall with brick insulation block then no air or gap between? as google says brick itself isnt waterproof ive seen your videos about the ventholes letting moisture out but isnt this only in certan sections? what stops the insulation from becoming damp and or mold growing

Is the brick wall tied to the block wall or timber wall? If so, how do they get the connecters through the insulation?

Does anyone know if shared / party walls in semi-detached / terraced timber frame houses have any brickwork? Is the external wall cavity continuous across adjoined properties or is it split up at the boundaries with timber / brick?

I was going to call you about my 2nd floor external front and rear wall built in the 70s, from inside out its plasterboard, timber frame, felt and upvc cladding. But this winter shown how bad its insulated so was going to take the upvc off felt then pack the frame out 100mm then insulate 50mm then 50mm air gap then refelt and new upvc... would this be correct. Many thanks

They sell plasterboard with inso attached... you lose some space internally but it solves the u value problem.

Cavity walls must NOT be bridged with insulation(insulation touching outer walls inside cavity) or else moisture will transmit from the damp outer wall through the touching bridging insulation into the inner wall ! If cavity-wall insulation is to be used , there must be a LARGE air space gap in-between the face of the insulation and the OUTER WALL inside the cavity ; this includes an air space gap in-between the face of the insulation and the cavity-wall-tie drip points which are in the centre of the cavity. Ask N.V.Q. BRICKWORK teachers for PROOF of this !
