There was a planet that was doomed to die from its star exploding or something, and the level of tech the inhabitants had recently created was time travel devices. I liked listening to Luetin09 and other KZbinrs about 40k during the Pandemic but my first ever big book was The First Heretic, from there I just wanted to follow his story arch to try and make sense of everything off of that. Blackstone isn't even needed if the Imperium wants Blackstone Pylons. Mankind has access to Serebite. From the Eisenhorn Malleus book: "See below that I have traced massive stonecutting orders from the limit-world of Serebos, which lies galactically south of Terra. The masonic guilds of Serebos are famously secretive about their contracts. They provide an inert, obsidian-like glass-stone called Serebite, a beautiful substance that is in high demand right across the Imperium. Serebite is, as far as reckoning goes, as close to the material used on Cadia for the pylons as it is possible to get."
@cogline99 ай бұрын
"Close to" can still be pretty far off. Like perhaps it would work but 10 serebite pilons = 1 blackstone. May have been feasible for the Eye of Terror but not nearly enough serebite available (that's known of) for the Great Rift. Still, interesting idea and great lore pull!
@anibala.moralessanchez80189 ай бұрын
@@cogline9 Serebite by itself is inert but it can become charged by Psykers similarly to the Golden Throne so I think it depends on its size and how much charge it can get. That's what Quixos wanted to do when he commissioned a single Serebite Pylon to be built and then charged by ridiculously powerful Alpha Plus Psykers or whatever.
@DeathBYDesign6669 ай бұрын
Are we given any numbers as to how effective it is compared to Blackstone? It makes me wonder if Blackstone itself was made by the C'tan in order to protect against warp entities and this cerebite is a glassed over version of it. World's that contained this element that were completely glassed over back in the war in heaven days. They could be the same thing.
@anibala.moralessanchez80189 ай бұрын
@@DeathBYDesign666 The fact that Google brings back no results for Serebite or Serebos leads me to believe that what little information exists on it is limited to the Malleus book and that GW forgot it even exists. If confronted with this information they'll likely write Serebos off as destroyed at some point to avoid the obvious question of why Serebite isn't being used as an easy replacement for Blackstone.
@DeathBYDesign6669 ай бұрын
@@anibala.moralessanchez8018 Knowing GW that sounds about right. I'm not by any means the biggest Warhammer expert by far but I do know that they only care about the latest trends of their current narrative. I'm actually doing an unprecedented thing for them by designing an actual DAoT "men of iron" warship for them (including background lore for it) and I doubt they will give me any credit for it, especially at my low status, but I can do it I assure you. When it's done every Warhammer KZbinr is gonna get on that I can almost promise you that, they'll probably sue me for it. I'm still going to do it though. I can tell you the size, it's going to be about the same size as one of the greater Halo rings but as a solid disk that expands to about 10 times the size, I think you know what I am trying to build from that bit of info. Nobody has actually done that yet but I'll bet that every Warhammer fan would be interested in it.
@cesare_13029 ай бұрын
The fact the AdMech can hold their own against the two (divided due to infighting) main Necron factions via DAOT weapons speaks volume of the power of humanity back then. Also the crazy plan of Cawl might be doable with a catch: if he manage to land on that planet of interest he could return to the current time zone bv "pulling out" said planet from its orbit around the black hole. Ofc it's easier said than done given the ancient necron forces present there and it could backfire spectacularly. Tho the precedent of moving a planet like a spacecraft exist in the lore with orkish attack moons and the world of Ullanor/Armageddon. It doesn't bypass the huge time dilation entirely but still...

As I hear the rest of the vid, I realize this is much like what you are saying already! When you discussed the reading order idea it brought to mind one of my main aggravations; if there is a particular thread or faction, backstory etc one may become intrigued with its nearly impossible to track down all the information pertaining to that specific interest as there are so many different pieces to so many other sub-plots and tales tucked away into works which, on the cover are completely unrelated or only distantly connected. One almost needs to consume every single bit of writing in the entire setting in order to get a complete picture, as complete as it has been created anyway. In a way, this is also a point of fascination and charm in the setting as well, lends a flavor of authenticity in a way but yeah, mostly just frustrating.

Great video! One implication I thought of afterwards was this: Could Cawl build a Phariah Nexus within/overlapping with the Imperial Webway, thus pushing back the Warp's influence and greatly weakening any invading daemons? Would that even work? And if it did, would that lessen the Emperor's burden by would not having to power/defend the gate with all his might, as part of the pressure would be negated by the "pariah-field" of the blackstone nexus? This could finally (partially) free the Emperor from his 10.000yrs of imprisonment on the Golden Throne, or at the very least lessen the burden. Lots of speculation, no certainties, but really, really intruiguing.

Cawl will send Cawl Inferior to the past, where he'll learn about the technology, put it in a capsule, and die in the past. Cawl in the future will go to the capsule location (they previously agreed with the location) and just retrieve the knowledge.

Betcha Cawl is the Omnissiah. Cawl is a dude who's already over 10,000 years old. So we know he can survive long term in the galaxy at its worst. Hes a person constructed of many many different personalities and hes the only dude who actually innovates and invents within the Imperium. If the narrative is about to have him playing around in the ancient past, in this particular moment of trapped time. Omni-ssiah means "many- savior" or "all, savior" So the many minds that make up Cawl, or the one mind that is all of them being the Omnissiah makes sense to me atleast.

The very description of the Warp allows time travel and multiple dimensions done on purpose to allow infinite amount of retcons.
