Cayden Lindstrom Is Ready To Achieve His NHL Dreams
Cayden Lindstrom grew up in remote Chetwynd, BC, over 1000 kilometres northeast of Vancouver, in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. There his Mother Trisha raised Cayden and his three sisters on her own. As Cayden progressed on the ice, the level of competition wasn't strong enough and he had to leave home at the age of 13 and join the Delta Hockey Academy in Vancouver. From there his play took off. Cayden played for the Medicine Hat Tigers in the WHL and now finds himself as one of the top prospects in the 2024 NHL Draft. Cayden, who is biracial, hopes to serve as a role model for members of the Cree Nation and Black communities, in an effort to help the diversify the game of hockey.

Like declaring that Black and Native are his two cultures and completely omitting Canadian, or saying that he has two people aka Black and Native, again completely omitting Canadian and any other non-racial identifier/grouping, while also to some degree confusing/assimilating someone's ethnic background to their culture, is pretty superficial and race-essentialist.
