That is some crazy behavior, with that trunkfish(?) shadowing the stingray. Have you ever seen that before?

That did indeed look to be a Trunkfish at the start. I haven't seen Trunkfish come off of the reef like that before. But, a lot of different types of fish will shadow a Stingray for scraps as they feed and stir up things in the sand. Maybe it was feeling opportunistic!

@@soupdives that is so cool. I wondered if the trunkfish was using the stinger for protection, but I think your interpretation (fish is looking for scraps) is the correct one.
