In Australia, prices are through the roof. And almost everyone with a 981 GT4 (such as myself) isn't selling. There are only 2 for sale in Australia at the moment, from a total batch of 70 cars. 718 GT4 are easier to get, with several available both new and used, but their prices are also up. I have no intention of selling my car. Maybe ever. But I am also driving it and putting miles on it. They are built to be used. Where does this leave buyers....well.. if you want the most visceral car, get the 981 if you can find one. If you want the newest and lowest miles, get a 718...but they don't sound as good as the old car, and the clutch feel in the new car is too light...

718 GT4s are in the 90-100k range here in Europe. I think they have had a price decrease of about 10-15% respect to brand new models
@993mike2 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to fault the 981 GT4. It’s got a no-problems engine without the complication of cylinder deactivation, and that 3.8 engine was used in both the 981 & 718 GT4 Clubsport. It sounds better, and if you flash a quality tune and install some BMC air filters the power is about the same as 4.0 engine. Add the N spec Michelin Cup 2’s (which make up most of the lap time difference according to Porsche) and dial in the suspension settings, you’ve got a Porsche that’s unbeatable for the money

The prices will fluctuate but still staying on a high level, Porsche has only time from 2022 to summer 2024 to produce all the nice Boxster and Caymans, GTS4.0, GT4, GT4RS and Spyders, because of the Noise and Environment regulations. The quota until November 2022 is almost sold, so there are about 18 months left to bring them on the streets, who ever has already one should keep it, the rest should hurry

In Europe the 981 GT4 never went to the moon. It's decreased year by year really slowly. 4 years ago when I bough my car it was 90k EUR. Now you can buy some from 75k.

An update on the MX5 ND market? Bought mine (2017 2.0 Sport Recaro) back in February but I see less specced and higher (as in double) mileage versions being sold at 15 to 20% more over what I paid. Crazy, but won’t sell mine I’m far too happy with it 😃

The Porsche marketing and careful control of cars keeps prices buoyant. In the UK most cars have a supply issue. I’ve been told I would need to wait until 2023 to get a 992 GTS.
@skrypka2 жыл бұрын
718 GT4RS will bring the prices down for GT4... It's no longer the king of mid engine cars, just something in the middle between rather ordinary GTS and now the ultimate GT4RS, which hardly can be compared to GT4 anymore performance-wise as the gap is so big between the two. GT4RS no limited production anymore.
@miralimdphd2 жыл бұрын
Agree to a limited extent. The GT4 still comes in a manual while the GT4RS does not.
@BubuBarong2 жыл бұрын
It won't... a well specced GT4RS is 1,5 times a GT4... It's 30k less than a 992 GT3. All different bracket.

Dealer charges $50k markup in U.S. for a GT4RS allocation. Adding some options will put this Cayman to $200,000+. Also who knows when Porsche will deliver them due to the global supply chain issue/shortages. It will not affect GT4 market at all.. maybe it will even push it higher.
@sixpotshot2 жыл бұрын
I disagree and I will further add to all other comments - you can cross a continent on a 981 GT4 / 718 GT4 say go from Oslo to the Dolomites and enjoy some alpine passes in the middle. The 718 GT4 RS is simply a car unsuited for such long distance travelling eg it is a very specific and limited machine whose main purpose is being a track toy. Moreover over time the rarity of the 981GT4 (I'll pass the fact that it will remain The Original GT4...) and its hardcore grade, more than a 718 GT4 and less than a 718 GT4 RS eg just about Right... will prove very appealing to the market and we shall see very strong prices for it: The King will remain the king in many ways...
