I think the multiple power train components, along with warranty unknowns, coupled with HPower centric buyer base, has these cars on the slide. Faster cars coming to market, along with likely less glitches

Interesting how different the UK market is. 718GT4s held strong throughout 22 and most of 23 then fell hard++ in the 4th Quarter of 2023, which is when I bought. They've continued down since but not as rapidly.

I watch all your videos and subscribed. You always skip the Cayman T and Boxster T. But to add insult to injury, you put a Cayman T on the cover shot, get me all excited and again nothing about the Ts! Love the work but at least if you ignoring the Ts, then take it off the cover please. : )

718 GTS is the best bang for buck Porsche. Can’t wait for when the full EV next gen is revealed so prices can appreciate on the ICE models or at least remain steady and hold their value.

The math on this is a little skewed because the “sale prices” were massively inflated due to crazy demand .. but you look at an MSRP standpoint there is very little depreciation.. 2020 with 80k MSRP sell for about 70-73k

I have 2 points to make: 1) it's about time the world stops considering things an asset like a stock or a house. 2) it's pretty damn sure that when i'll be able to afford a porsche the market will correct 1-2 years before and make it unaffordable (fml)

Time for an update? I’m in the market for a 991 GT3 or AMG GTR and the latter is definitely getting softer.

I have a 2009 987.2 base 6sp manual and having a hard time judging if I need to hurry up and sell it or is it ok to enjoy it for the summer. I know the car is a very small segment and hard to get a statistical average on a manual transmission car. Any insight would be helpful.

Paid £30k for a fully loaded 981S, already worth 15-20% more. The 718 line up is being phased out . Very few good flat 6.

ICE Cayman values only going up in the future once Porsche stops ICE and moves to 100% EV Caymans. I’m sure the EVs will be faster but they will never provide the same driving experience!

I got my base 981 at the start of 2024. The previous owner originally bought it mid covid at an inflated value and lost of 25% of its value in 2 years. Im glad I got once the market settled down.

The correction in 2023 was likely due in part to the announcement of the next generation of the Boxter/Cayman going electric. Many see the Spyder/GT4 (especially manual) as one of Porsche's last great analog cars.

Could you also cover the EU market as well? For simplicity reasons, it would be helpful to mention in the title or somewhere else about which market you're talking about. The EU and US market are entirely different from one another. The new EU regs coming in July 2024 that killed the non-RS 718 market, the gas/diesel ban concerns, the very high engine size tax (soon to be a lot bigger), all of these factors are changing the entire pricing landscape in the EU, compared to the American market. What a Porsche with a >2.0L engine would increase in value in the US, that would actually lose value over time in the EU. Since I bought my brand new base Cayman just 6 months ago at a discount of 8-9% under MSRP (at roughly 79k euros), it's actually incredibly hard to find a lightly used one at under 95k euros (MY 22/23). On the other hand 991.2 prices continue to drop because the engine size tax and the associated insurance costs are eye watering high: just the engine tax would be about 2k euros annually (post tax increase would be more like 5k euros), and that's without factoring in the insurance costs (mandatory and/or optional one). Put that into perspective with the taxes paid on a 2.0L engine: that's a measly 45 euros annually. A buddy of mine is looking to get a 991.2 (last one to have a truly analog dashboard), but is holding out for another 2-3 years before they can be had for peanuts.

from a pure design and aesthetics standpoint ( not based on performance), the 987 is bound to be classic.

Just bought a 987.1 S, my favorite on styling and the flat 6 sounds amazing! Manual transmissions are getting harder to find along with hydraulic steering.

l recommend buying one at these prices. I own my Taycan for 3yrs and i enjoy it everyday. Love the way it looks and has never seen a mechanic yet and still 100% battery. Plus, I get lots of compliments like everyday. No other ev has the style of a Taycan.

Japanese(S2000, Miata, 86) and American models(Mustang, Camaro, Corvette) tend to be cheaper for maintenance and repairs for older models so cheaper to own after the depreciation hit.
