Hi Rob and Gail, Yes, another fantastic vlog. We have stayed at Cayton many times on a serviced pitch (128) our preferred pitch, never bothered with premium. One thing we noticed on this vlog you seemed to drive more than walk with Cleveland way to hand. Everything you visited reminded us why we love it so much. You through us with the flask and no biscuits 😮 We are glad you both had a great holiday. We are still looking forward to the day we bump into you both for a cuppa and a chat😊. Agree with you, the prices have gone up but club sites are just so reliable. The threat of rain all week put us off our usual walks. However, using the car meant we could pack more into our few days but we still clocked up a good few miles walking. We had a good time reminiscing and enjoyed all our sea front treats 😀. Another great Video Rob & Gail, We used to take the kids to Scarborough for our Annual weeks holiday over 30 years ago, Nice to see the Navel Battle still going on in Peasholme park, Oh yes Mr Marvels fun fair and the wonderful water slides at the open air pool, always went in the Corner Cafe & caught the Funicular opposite to get up to our B&B after a wonderful day on the beach. We did take both Grandaughters to Cayton Bay after the refurbishment ideally placed to explore the area, Only been back for day trips since

We have fantastic memories of Scarborough and it sounds like you and Karen have too 😀. It’s one of our all time favourite seaside resorts and we never tire of it. Lots has changed over the years but it still retains its charm. We remember the funicular next to the steps opposite the corner cafe. We used to stay in a guest house above the park and would love a pound for every walk we did along Marine Drive. It was nostalgic to dive into the photo albums, my hair was as black as coal back then and I had more too. Memories ay… All. the very best to you both, Rob & Gail 👍

Another great video like you were finding camc sites are getting expensive looked at booking seacroft serviced pitch 3 adults our son will be 18 priced at £72.10 per night so only use the club for Green flag insurance and cls

That is a bit steep Andrew and a shame as Seacroft is a lovely site and very convenient too. We had an amazing time at Cayton Village but will be balancing the budget by visiting a hard standing fully serviced CL next month. We also simply enjoy a mix of club, CL and independent sites. Great video Rob with lots of interesting information. I’ve been visiting Scarborough for sixty years as an auntie lived near Cayton Bay. Back in the day I learned to water ski on the Mear with jet boats, no propellers, as the water is not deep enough. We visited the site last year and stayed on a non awning pitch no 78 I think just down from you. We thought it was a great site and have also been to the newly refurbished West Ayton this year staying on a fully serviced pitch. We really like the area and Filey is one of our favourites.

Hi Rob we go a lovely CL caravan club at a site called Giffords at Clapham near Settle there are 3 service pitches been going there for years you can catch the at the station just down below the site for Morecombe or to Skipton the views are beautiful regards Trevor 50 years caravaning😊

Wow expensive site. Dread to think how much those accessible pods would be. There might be a rail to hold on to in the shower but there didnt seem to be a seat in there. Thats a bit odd for the accessible. We had a pitch at our fave site for the end of July, parked the car, caravan & put ip an awning each side and still didnt fill the pitch side to side. The hedges, trees & shrubs were really thick. We had fire pits too & it cost £20 per night less. All on a meadow that has only 15 pitches, loos, showers, kitchen, laundry & accesdible showers etc. Theres a pub, shop, visiting street food, w end entertainment, pigs to feed too. Only 3 pitches in use then too. Its good you check out the Accessible facilities as not many vloggers think abouf those. Ta

Hello Linda, An expensive but brilliant site and we so loved our premium pitch. We didn’t ask about pod prices but no doubt they won’t be cheap, really nice though. We had a quick look back at the video on the accessible wet room and it looks like there is a drop down seat. Your favourite site sounds very nice 👍 but you didn’t say where it is or whether it has any fully serviced pitches. Would love to know 😀. Hi there Graham, We stumbled across the naval battle hence the dodgy view through the trees 😁. We used to regularly stay at a lovely guest house above the park in the 90’s but even thats gone now, guess they’ve retired. I bought my Meguiar’s leather balm from our local Halfords when it was on offer. Good stuff 👍, hope you’re impressed too. I did look into joining the club but decided for what are actually quite basic sites there poor value for a couple . I also have the colapze waste pipes . I bought them due to limited external storage on my coachman caravan. I have to say the white solid waste pipe i used to use and store in the gas bottle locker of my old swift were much better. I find them difficult to clean and even when using the colapze pegs the pipes always sag between the pegs.there ok when the waste grates within a couple of feet of the waste exits but when the grates at the rear of the pitch i find them less usefull

Hi Philip, Club sites are not all singing, all dancing bells and whistles type sites but you are guaranteed clean facility blocks, well run and well maintained sites. Ah ! the Collapze pipes. Seem just the job until warm water flows through them. They certainly live up to their name 😂. On a short run rather than stretch one out I connect two together to keep them a bit more rigid. Rob. it's the old un again. I have to use service pitches now in order to keep caravnning. Been at it for 50 years now. You do seem to find cls that have service pitches. Do you have an easy way of finding them? There are 100s of cls so not an easy task. All the best

Hello John, Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a list of all the serviced CL’s at our fingertips or even a filter on the clubs website to narrow done the search for serviced CL’s. But alas the time consuming searching is down to us members. I’ve even raised this subject with the club at the NEC in past years but nothing has materialised. We’ve actually just been having a look ourselves on the clubs CL page of their website. We chose Leicestershire which brought up six areas. Within each area are the individual CL’s. We quickly scanned for the words ‘hardstanding enhanced’ and we only found two in Market Harborough. We’ve found this the easiest way of searching. We double check when phoning to book as we came across a misprint once and were at the point of paying ! Hope this helps and may you long continue to caravan. All the best, Rob & Gail 😀

Hello Alan, The two bus stops outside the site entrance take you to Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay and Whitby in one direction and Filey and Bridlington in the other. I’m not sure on other destinations but everything is highlighted in the beach hut information cabin. We’ve got 160 maps Gail’s just counted them 😵‍💫. If I haven’t already got them, I usually purchase them online from WHSmith or OS direct at the beginning of the year once we’ve booked sites. We can highly recommend Cayton Village club site and we are pleased you enjoyed our video and found it inspiring. All the best, Rob & Gail 👍😀

Hello Glyn, Pleased you enjoyed our video and it seems we are alike in our ways too 👍. We quite enjoyed our picnic and will do it again. These new 1pm arrivals push lunch time to mid afternoon don’t they. We enjoyed and appreciated the extra space on our premium pitch. We only stay five nights at a time so it put an extra £20 on our bill. They are proving very popular the warden told us and Gail and I both agreed we would book one again. The top area is where we prefer but a great site, the fork lift reversing sounder is from the chip shop factory. There is a great farm shop and cafe a twenty minute walk away and on the subject of CMC lodges I completely disagree with the club spending money on them.

We would have explored further if we were staying longer and would probably have found the farm shop but thanks for mentioning it 👍. We enjoyed seeing the interior of the pods and cabins and apparently the accessible ones are always booked up. It’s a nice way for disabled people to continue visiting club sites. Hello Henry, Nice of you to notice my nice clean car 🚙. I do take a pride in caring for it. It’s nearly 12 years old and I’ve owned it 10 and a half years. I wouldn’t mind another A6 allroad, they stopped importing them into the UK January 2022 due to low sales. As I still love this car I may wait for an electric equivalent with a good towing range, but I might be waiting a while 🤔. Thanks very much for tuning in and all the best, Rob & Gail 👍😀
