The current 6 Core Telephone Wires are: 1) Green Power Wire Broadband Hub. 2) Blue Bell Wire. 3) Orange Dialling Wire. 4) White/Orange Call Wire. 5) White/Blue Recieving Call Wire. 6) White/Green Broadband Wire. The Telephone connected to Broadband Hub Digital Voice Landline Telephone Switchover means if there is a Power Cut: 1) No Power. 2) No Connection. 3) No Telephone. 4) if your Mobile or Tablet runs out of Battery you will not be able to contact anyone including Emergency Services and Powergrid. 5) Costing the User Money to Upgrade Telephone Cables and Extension Sockets to Digital Voice Landline Telephone on Switchover. 6) Putting People's Lives at Risk in Emergencies not everyone has a Oncall Alarm Unit. These points above are something that the BT or the Government has not thought of when they introduced this Digital Voice Landline Telephone Switchover.

Hi Rob I know this is now a few years beyond the publishing date of this video but we recently bought one of these and have consistently found the flow rate most disappointing! Certainly not enough to provide a decent shower. We are now seriously considering a return to a water butt and ballcock arrangement although there are doubts that even this will be significantly better. Do you know of any way to improve this situation or are we stuck with what we have? I should add that we had two previous Swift vans using the Truma system both of which worked better. Many thanks.

Hi Michael, If you have an onboard pump you could switch it on to boost the pressure. We’ve used our onboard pump twice when the sites mains pressure was poor. We did find it used the hot water up too quickly when showering and had to turn the mixer tap down a little to reduce the flow. Other than that we find ours ok. To eliminate a connection problem at the external water plug, when you’re next on site it may be worth opening the kitchen tap and press the water plug into the socket to see if it makes any difference to the flow. Last resort would be to speak to Whale and see what their response is. Hope this helps. Cheers Rob

@@robswiseways5697 thanks for coming back so promptly Rob. Unfortunately we dont have an onboard tank so the only pump would be the external one that came with the van for use with the water barrel. If we press the plug into the connection when in use and the flow improves what does this indicate please? Do we need to make some adjustment somewhere? We are already in touch with Whale but it remains to be seen if this results in any improvements. The only thing we did notice was that the pressure (flow rate) was better at the instant we opened the sink tap but fell away again almost immediately. I’m assuming this would be down to a temporary increase in pressure whilst the taps were all off and the mains pressure had a chance to build up slightly only to weaken again as soon as water started to run, even filling the kettle is a slow process so you can imagine what a shower was like! Cheers

@@michaelhayes9975 Hi Michael, I would say if the water flow increases when pressing the water plug it could indicate the plug is not being held into the socket correctly? We too experience the drop in pressure after opening a tap, so guess this is normal. I wouldn’t call our shower flow poor but it is by no means the same as at home. We have an Ecocamel shower head which is marketed as being a high pressure low water shower head. We don’t open any other tap whilst showering as this effects the shower flow and increases the water temperature above your set tap position. I can’t think of anything else I can say to help with your problem. I hope Whale reply to your query and I would be interested to hear what they say. Whale advertise the built in pressure reducer inside the plug to be 1.5 to 1.8 bar. Personally I think it ought to be 2 bar. Best Regards, Rob

Must admit, the 'logic' (or lack of) for this 'switch over', seems utterly short-sighted - 'it it ain't broke, don't fix it' was always the best motto. It's not like trying to telegraph when you could just use the telephone. The 'convienience' element is gone and will just make it easier too for unscrupilous scammers to hijack old landline numbers for their nafarious activities, along with making any repairs of such a complex 'internet-based' landline system far more difficult than they need to be. God help us all in a power cut, as nobody will be able to contact anyone even for emergencies.
@robswiseways5697
@robswiseways5697 19 күн бұрын
Hello and thanks for your comment. We are still getting used to having to dial the area code just to chat to someone down the road, most annoying. We find ourselves using our mobiles more often and only using the landline to answer incoming calls. We are hanging onto our landline for elderly relatives sake. The line however seems to be clearer. I guess we have to move with the times and since posting this video we have switched to full fibre. I am currently making a follow up video on full fibre and will include battery backup to help us in a power cut. Cheers Rob 👍

Hello Jim, please keep it positive! Like all CLs, we try our best with what we have - we don't have the budget of the Club behind us! But we love what we do so please be kind, it makes us all help each other that little bit more. You are most welcome to come and try us out. 1.5 acre field that encompasses the CL that the pitches look onto and guests are able to walk around. We have sown wildflowers onto half of the field so there is a nice view in the summer and that has seen a real boost in insect, bird and animal life thanks to the sowing of the flowers. The sun sets behind the poplar trees and we are just under one mile's walk from the centre of Pershore, 0.3m from the river. We have one foot in the country and one foot in the town as it were! So a glorified car park is really not what it is like here - perhaps you might like to rethink a rather unkind remark until you are able to come to stay and see it for yourself. Thank you, and once again to Rob and Gail. Emily

Hi Derek, Welcome to the wonderful world of caravanning and thank you for your compliment. I have the Whale Watermaster Mains Water Hook-up kit. It used to be called Aquasource. The website is whale.navico.com If you have a Truma water socket then Truma do their own direct water hook-up called Ultraflow Waterline. This has an inline pressure reducer. Hi Rob and Gail another good vidio. I'm in my fourth week at my favourite CL in Lincolnshire, heading back on Sunday. Year's ago when you talked about creating videos, I wandered how you would take to it. Look at you now, very professional with Gail the cute assistant.

Hi there Steve, Can’t believe your tour is nearly over. Hope you’ve had a great time 👍. Yes I remember those discussions about me joining KZbin all those years ago. Then I took the plunge and made a series of robotic videos 😂😂. Should have listened to my cute assistant (Gail’s laughing). Good job she persevered with me and it’s now turned into an enjoyable hobby. Thanks for keeping in touch, all the best, Rob & Gail 😀

We have been remarkably lucky to stay on so many wonderful sites where we can honestly give good reviews. I think it would be our worst nightmare if we found we didn’t actually like the site after being offered a free pitch 😂😂 . Thanks for watching and best regards, Rob & Gail 😀

Hi Rik. Rob and Gail are so modest and generous about their brilliant channel that they didn't tell us until they arrived! And even then there was no mention that they were Rob's Wise Ways until I asked... You couldn't get a more kindly couple. A very big thank you in return. E&M.

Looks like a lovely break Rob & Gail! What a sweet site. Rob, you look like me trying to get on that hammock, I always look like a struggling upside down tortoise! Haha Gail, I wonder what using a dishwasher makes a housewife these days, if the knife polisher alone caused inflexibility and indifference!😅 Lily & Bruce x

Hello Lily & Bruce, hope you are both well. Your tortoise comment made us both laugh. Gail said I resembled a wood lice on its back with arms and legs flailing. It was my first attempt on an hammock and I failed badly 😂 . Despite the critics of the day we wondered just how time saving, if at all, the kitchen staff found the knife cleaning contraption 😂 . Good job times have changed 🤣

Hi Rob and Gail, currently and coincidentally tuning in from Broadway (via Eye Kettleby)great vlog as usual, this is an area we know quite well from our pre caravan days, we tended to gravitate east toward Chipping Campden (often seeing Tony Hadley in the local Chinese or the Eight Bells much to Mrs D ‘s excitement) but will certainly venture west on seeing this, best wishes Chris and Mrs D.👍

Fancy bumping into him there. A true gold legend he is too 😂. We were disappointed we didn’t bump into Toyah.
