I had Pat make me a motor like 15 years ago... with EFI.... sat and was never used.... put it in last week and it runs like a gem! He makes the best VW engines... he is a world class builder!

Don't know if you're still around hopefully you are was it the Generation 1 fuel injection cuz I just acquired this badass Baja in my thumbnail that's the generation 1. 2 Nob box fuel injection it's a scat cranks cat rod with CB performance everything heads and I don't know much about this fuel injection and what else I can do to it can I boost it?

@@evilbeetlekustomscreations4965 Yes, it is the gen 1 with the richness knob. I am going to upgrade the ECU when I get around to it, and yes, you could turbocharge it, just make sure the injectors are flow matched, the throttle bodies are a size you could live with and that you have the correct map on the ECU.

Beautiful engine! I want to build a clone of it. But i did not know the compression ratio could be so high at 10.0:1. Also if you like the stock style exhaust system, can you put something like that on that kind of engine?

Pat, 2276 w/48 ida's vs. 2332 w/44 idf's for a weekend warrior street bug. Which would more fun? Similar heads, cam, etc. I always wondered a larger displacement engine with more streetable carbs vs a slightly smaller engine with much larger carbs. I'd like to see a side by side comparison.

What’s the idle on this? I have this in my 1969 VW Beetle, but idles low I feel, seems to sputter in and out of synchronized and pops every so often.

on their website the smallest one they have is a 1900 cc and comes as a kit that makes 90 horses but is tuned for fuel economy. gives a power boost without being stupidly crazy.

Esa combi trae un 1800 c.c de golf carburada todavía, con “poca” inversión podrías colocar un 2.0 de inyección con ECU o carburación según tu agrado (JETTA A4) y aparte modificarlo: Porteo y pulido en cabeza o culata en puertos de admisión y escape (sin cepillado de más en cabeza) se podría realizar un trabajo de + relación de compresión para llegar arriba de las 10 o casi (11.0:00^ + -) pero lo tiene que realizar una persona con el conocimiento exacto ya que habría que hacer un trabajo o cálculo de cubicaje muy preciso para evitar calentamiento, un árbol de levas RACING SOLO UNA medida arriba del original ya que con árboles con alzadas más grandes llegan incluso a ser más lentos que si estuviera STOCK el motor, si fuera carburado un par de WEBERS 40as NOTA!: “SOLO LOS ESPAÑOLES” (los WEBERS DUAL EMPI y SOLEX no son tan precisos y llegan a tener poca carburación, el MIKUNI japonés es mejor pero también son escasos los repuestos) un múltiple de admisión pulido en aluminio y una tubería calculada en INOX de 2.5” con silenciador de flujo directo MAGNAFLOW, el monoblock puede estar STOCK, si quieres verte más ambicioso en H.P’s podrías colocar un motor 1.8T de 20V de AUDI A3 aunque esta modificación ya es de mucho más $$$ y para ese motor ya hay cosas muy sofisticadas que van desde 230 H.P’s hasta cerca de 500 H.P’s con BIG TURBO y ECU RACING obvio con pistones y cigüeñal forjados y de preferencia con piezas como son los pistones y vielas y cigüeñal tratados en BALANCEO DINAMICO, lo que ya no te ayudaría mucho sería tu transmisión de 4 vel que obvio también tendrías que modificar forjandola y modificándola en relaciónes cortas 1a y 2a cortas y 3a y 4a largas como se modifican la de los VW air cooled, también tendrías que modificar tus frenos para poder detenerla con mejores prestaciones...aunque en una VW COMBI sería muy letal tener una aceleración tan violenta en baja y alta por la nula aerodinámica del modelo 🤔 podría manejarse ya muy inestable, esto ya es a gusto pero sobre todo a lo que te quieras gastar $$$ amigo!..espero te sirvan mis humildes consejos ya que yo he realizado proyectos de este tipo para algunos autos para BRACKET o 1/4 de milla que tuve antes de meterme a ligas mayores con modificaciones de motos Deportivas 600, (636 KAWASAKI), (750 SUZUKI) y 1000 c.c 👍

I think you'd be fine on 91 or 93. That's not super high compression.

Jpm motor sport in Germany got 230hp from a 1776 and that’s street driven. Drives to track, runs 11’s and drives home.

@@karlrichardson4665 Is this 1776 turbo charged or un-boosted? A 1176 built with a hybrid intake system, turbo EFI, could achieve those numbers if properly tuned.

@@Jayvans_Super Yes it is posable, but at only 1835cc it would have no low end torque. It makes as much hp as a 2275cc motor.
