Another scenic and memorable day with the midnight sun to top it all off! There are times when we need to pause and let our senses soak up the moment and it appears that this trip has given you every opportunity to do just that......being both adventurous and relaxing makes for a good watch. Thank you.

Many thanks Quentin. It was so blissful sat on the shore line after midnight still in daylight, just the sound of the waves and birds. I was soooooo lucky with the weather and clear weather Nick

Stunning. I've fallen in love with this country just from watching. I spent 10yrs in France where some of that time was spent in the Alps. I now want to journey across Scandinavia! Alas I am in Australia so it will take some planning and lots of $$$$

Hi Nick, I’ve watched all this particular series so far, I’ve liked them all, this is my first comment, having watched this one in suddenly Said to myself Norway 🇳🇴 is the best country in the world, what scenery ! I’ve been once to the Tromso area in one December, must revisit in the summertime, ride safe 👍🏻
@bikingtravels9 ай бұрын
Many thanks for taking the time to comment, yes, a revisit in summer is highly recommended. I'm not sure how I'd take to the darkness of winter. Nick

I am enjoying your channel. You have an enviably calm approach to travel. I'm really commenting to say that I think I have the same GPS unit as you and mine did exactly the same when I was travelling in Norway earlier this year. It must be something about Garmin and the many tunnels in Norway.
@bikingtravels9 ай бұрын
Many thanks for your comment and information. My Garmin did eventually sort itself out, but yes, I think I had left Norway by then! I hope you enjoyed your trip. Nick

Did you go through the Lærdalstunneln when you were in southwestern Norway on the way north? That's the world's longest road tunnel - 24.5 km long 😊 It connects the villages Lærdal and Aurland and goes through the mountain Aurlandsfjellet.
@bikingtravels9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question, but no, when I left Bergen I travelled North on the E39 so missed the tunnel which was to the West. Nick

My favourite scenery so far in this one. Just fabulous looking topography. Good to see sunny summer days too as here in Northern Scotland we are getting into the dark, damp depths of short winter days and sun, warmth and late sunsets are distant memories.
@bikingtravels9 ай бұрын
Many thanks, I was so lucky with the weather and my video capability doesn't really capture the scenery but it was indeed stunning. I hope a little bit of KZbin sunshine escapes into the long nights in Scotland! Nick

Nick,another stunning episode of your journey. What a fabulous journey with jaw -dropping Norway scenery that you are taking us all along with.I guess quite a few of us who are following you dream of doing such a journey some day.Absolutely brilliant keep them coming.

Many thanks Ian. The scenery in Norway was stunning, enhanced by my lucky break with the weather. If you get a chance, I can wholeheartedly recommend it! Nick

Another enjoyable video Nick. I appears that you got your GPS backlighting issue sorted out by the end of the segment. While stationed in Iceland in the late 80s with my family, we would joke about how if in late June, if you told the kids to go outside and play, but be home by dark, you wouldn’t see them until September 😅. Out of curiosity, is it customary in Europe for motorcycles to go to the head of the cue at ferry crossings? Makes sense, but that doesn’t happen in the US in my experience? Looking forward to next week’s adventures. Cheers, Jim
@bikingtravels9 ай бұрын
😁 Out but back before dark... hahaha! I think the Garmin got damp but sorted itself out in the sun. Yep, motorcycles, bikes and pedestrians go to the front and typically board first into spaces that cars don't really fit. Many thanks for the comment and question as usual Jim! Nick

The sights just keep giving, great video Nick 👍 Do motorbikes always go to the front of the queue when boarding a ferry?
@bikingtravels9 ай бұрын
Many thanks and yep bikes (motor and non) and pedestrians do. Nick

Looks like some nice bright sunny times - Just a thought... Would be good at the end of your trip if you can do a video about how you planned it; where the best stopping spots were; how you got the ferry pass etc etc

Hi Nick…..really enjoying this Nordkapp series. Fantastic landscape to ride in. I do have a more mundane question though: How are you cleaning/drying your clothes on such a long trip ? I’ve never been on a trip longer than about 10 days so it’s never presented an issue for me. Ride safe..stay well
@bikingtravels9 ай бұрын
Many thanks and yes the scenery to me at least was epic. I only had 4 T-Shirts, 4 sets of boxers, 4 pairs ankle socks and a sweat shirt. Apart from the sweat shirt that luckily I didn't really need, I washed 2 sets of the rest every 2 days in campsite sinks. The boxers and T shirts are wicking material so dry really quickly either overnight on guy ropes or next day in a mesh bag attached to my luggage, drying as I rode along. Same for the very short ankle socks, not wicking but so short they dried quickly too. I also had a pair of long trousers that zipped off at the knee, washing those as and when, same for swimming shorts that doubled as regular shorts. I hope this waffling reply makes sense, great question though. Nick

Hi Nick, it s really beautiful. But is it true that you are exempt for tol roads as motorcyclist? The ferrypass i v just received, but thats not nessesary for tol roads?
@bikingtravels9 ай бұрын
I believe so, I paid for the Dalsnibba toll road and one of the bridges but think that was all, but I did also avoid major roads so depending on your route it could differ I guess. Enjoy your trip! Nick

Before the tunnels were built presumably there were some arduous routes around the mountains or more ferries? Looking forward to seeing the maelstrom!
@bikingtravels9 ай бұрын
I'm sure you're correct ref the tunnels. Regarding the maelstrom.. spoiler alert... I got there at the wrong time for the tidal flows 🙄 Nick
@simonchilli20889 ай бұрын
@@bikingtravels Oh no! I read about the Maelstrom in a book by Hugh Aldersey-Williams. It sounds like something to avoid in a boat.
