How did I miss this... this is the exact video I needed like a week ago lmao

Love these videos and hope you make more. Also personally I tend to avoid replacing any brass components you get in aftermarket kits. Usually there is nothing wrong with old brass even if it’s stained dark, they just need a clean up. The original Honda brass is machined with super high tolerances and aftermarket kits aren’t (I’m looking at you keyster). You can do more harm than good swopping the jets, emulsifier tube and needle. Of course if there is severe pitting or actual damage then replace them for sure, but try and find Honda rebuild kits, but they are hard to find.

Just purchased a 1978 Cb550K, cleaning the carbs and I cannot get that pressed in jet out using pliers at all. It is completely stuck - any ideas on how to remove the jet?

This is so timely, Im literally rebuilding my 78 Carbs! What model carbs are these? The PD 46A?

I am reassembling my cb650c pd carbs and i have one nylon washer that appears to go on the throttle shaft where one of the slides attach to the shaft. Idk what number carb it goes in. Did you see one while you were building yours?
@mattkenaston7180 Жыл бұрын
Nevermind. It goes on carb #2...

I have no idea what you did to sync the carbs. what did you adjust?

Which kickstart arm is that? I have your rearsets and pegs that you have on that bike and there is no way for the kickstart to clear, it isn't even close.
@CognitoMotoTV2 жыл бұрын
It’s a cb500 arm but I just fold the foot peg up and I’m doing a 3/4 kick
@travisshrey67202 жыл бұрын
@@CognitoMotoTV Ah, maybe the 500 arm makes a difference vs 550. My 550 arm hits on the toe piece of the brake lever, not the peg.

I dont remember. It was up 2 or up 4 but I move the needles too.
Really good looking with black carb bodys. What paint do you recommend to paint the carbs with?
@CognitoMotoTV2 жыл бұрын
i had powder coated these. I did that when i built the bike originally so its held up okay.

Good video, but please take into consideration the position of the camera as there are may shots where your hand is blocking what is being done. Thanks.

Good observation. Also, the music just drones and drones and drones after a while. I wish makers of long videos would take this into consideration.
