I think a lot of the Evan Solomon bashers should keep in mind that its near impossible that an American version of Evan Solomon could have ever made it to a position to ask these sorts of questions (which hordes and hordes of self proclaimed american "liberals" totally agree are valid questions). Therefore we should be grateful that the Canadian representative of this class of people - the establishment "left" (or Canadian "centrist") - got crushed in their place. It's an important interview to have taken place at that time, and Solomon did his part to make it happen. A lot of political journalists would just never have had Chomsky on, end of story. Especially the ones that have made their way to the top of American political media.

I really respect Chomsky I really do enjoy listening to him speak. However he does have some flaws such as JFK and MLK assassination and also 9/11. Good interview. Very effective use of Devil's Asvocate strategy. Well done Solomon. Obviously its a bit terrible since most of Chomskys points are pretty straight-forward and Solomon appear to be trying to have an intelligent and sophisticated discussion on whether America is allowed to bomb civilians or not. But he gave Chomsky opportunity to explain is views in detail.
