I think a lot of the Evan Solomon bashers should keep in mind that its near impossible that an American version of Evan Solomon could have ever made it to a position to ask these sorts of questions (which hordes and hordes of self proclaimed american "liberals" totally agree are valid questions). Therefore we should be grateful that the Canadian representative of this class of people - the establishment "left" (or Canadian "centrist") - got crushed in their place. It's an important interview to have taken place at that time, and Solomon did his part to make it happen. A lot of political journalists would just never have had Chomsky on, end of story. Especially the ones that have made their way to the top of American political media.

I really respect Chomsky I really do enjoy listening to him speak. However he does have some flaws such as JFK and MLK assassination and also 9/11. When ever it comes to conspiracies that are over whelmed with evidence against the official story he plays dumb which always made feel sceptical of him.

Still the best interview of Chomsky. This interviewer managed to keep up and push the boundaries ask the relevant questions that resonate with the populations and so on. He hands down did amazing job.

I have lost respect for both Chomsky and Maddow in the past year. 911 has massive, gaping holes in it which they choose , not only to ignore, but belittle those who are doing their duty by challenging this very serious event. Good interview. Very effective use of Devil's Asvocate strategy. Well done Solomon. Obviously its a bit terrible since most of Chomskys points are pretty straight-forward and Solomon appear to be trying to have an intelligent and sophisticated discussion on whether America is allowed to bomb civilians or not. But he gave Chomsky opportunity to explain is views in detail.

Throughout the interview, Chomsky explains his conclusions quite rationally as Evan Solomon rapidly fires counter arguments regardless of their strength, sometimes for the sake of equivalency. Then at the end, Solomon presents Chomsky as some buggy radical.

Back in the day, the American brainmelting media apparatus wasn't as filtered as it is today. They were still in the kind of early stages of building & testing this massive opinion shaping monstrosity. So every once in a while, they'd fuck up by allowing Chomsky on a channel where he could demolish dimwits and subordinated media personnel without being cut off every 2 seconds. They fixed that mistake in the later years.

He's dissappointed me too on 9-11 and i read his book. he made great points, but in the end tows a safe line. what he brings to more people are truths that very few others can articulate so well and with such intellectual superiority about that subject, a life long committment.....i wonder what he's saying, if at all, about achitects and engineers for 9-11

Chomsky visibly shaking at points. It's because of the subject matter plus the approach of Solomon. Solomon has entered this like it were a discussion with reasonable disagreements. Chomsky on the other hand takes the discussion of the loss of life, or millions of lives, very seriously. That's why Chomsky projected his thoughts as he had in this video.

I'm Scottish, I don't watch US TV but I do watch Noam Chomsky. I've never seen him so pissed at the stupidity from across the table. I don't think "they" are supporting democracy in Egypt, afterall they haven't done so for hundreds of years so why would they now?
