I love this song, but it didn't really become alive until I saw this video. Her distaste for what she's singing about, and the way she builds to a crescendo when she sings "I'm gettin' thinner" is so powerful. She is such a treasure, what an important artist. She's like the female Robbie Williams, not as appreciated or understood as she should be.

I've actually never heard her doing an acoustic version of any of her songs. It's refreshing to actually hear her voice and know that it's real and beautiful. I have her first album and I've found that her voice is kind of overpowered a lot by the other instruments, so this is nice, simple and clean. Well done, Lily!

great lyrics, it speaks of how numb we really are to whats really happening to us, bombarded day in and out with messages that filter out who we really are, that which is deeply embedded within us all, such as soul, love, giving etc. instead where trapped with debt and fear of loss (lemming batteries) we can get glimpses of this when we feel true love, and how material has no meaning. unprogramming through self realization i think this is one way of reversing crap ingrained on our skulls

There are a number of vids on youtube where she comes into a studio and sings acoustic versions ("Absolutely Nothing," "Womanizer," "LDN") of her songs, putting herself out there without the benefit of studio trickery, which proves (ironically) her absolute fearlessness as a performer.
