Wonderful interview. The first time I met Diana Krall was in a Bang and Olufsen store in NYC and I also blurted out "Diana Krall, I love you!" and she said "wait, what?" And then I proceeded to tell her how much I loved her music. I did some work for her after that and she was humble and absolutely delightful. I cherish that memory and wish I had stayed in touch with her. Beautiful human being.

Love how she says relax when you play, and feeling the vibe with her collaborators. Giving each other space and trusting that everyone will bring more than one can ask for. So special.

After watching this interview I feel like I know her better. I realize how much spontaneous creativity is in her head and she eloquently transfers into her songs in the way she sings a tune and the gift of expressing herself and what she hears in her head to the keyboard My very favorite artist perhaps because I wish I could express myself and be like her.

This one of the best interviews with one of the best musicians. Wouldn't we all love to be in the same room during this interview? She explained playing very well. "You just put your hands on the keys and see where it takes you." That's been my experience: one note suggests another, one phrase leads to another, it's how musicians work. Dancers understand it: one step leads to another, one set of movements suggests the next set . . . for dancers but perhaps not for the rest of us.

I love this format. A musician and their instrument taking and answering questions. Simply so much fun. The little bits she played are so insightful. I would love to have been there and yelled out an "I love you" to both afterward. BTW I heard this in the radio a few days ago. Seeing the faces and expressions and body language really adds depth. Thanks guys.

15:40 "Are you picky?" "Extremely". "In who you play with?" "Um.....well, I, I, .... not really, .I'm very lucky because I, I get to play with these.....great...... musicians, and I had a chance to work at.....um...I like to work with different musicians who understand ..um, ...the feeling of, of.....I think it's, to try to express myself" ....( and she quickly changes the subject) If you asked the same question to sidemen who have worked for her, you would get a different answer.
