Also, the cbdc is not environmentally friendly at all. In fact, the more we live online, the higher our energy consumption. At least with gold, silver, paper money, your transactions are more private, the majority of the energy involved is human to human transactions, not the mining nor the transportation, over the long run. Cbdc’s are about restrictions, monitoring, and more efficient taxation. And I’m sure most of the working class is more than fed up with being overtaxed. Actually, the whole “tax the rich” argument is really nothing but a distraction from the fact that we the common man and women are far beyond overtaxed. It’s not an exaggeration to say that we are wage slaves. We are the collateral that backs the debt based structure of our currencies.

Stablecoins are no more decentralized than a cbdc would be. 1. they're on centralized chains like eth and sol 2. they're controlled by central companies (circle, tether [bitfinex], etc.), freely able to mint, burn, and freeze tokens. USDC's contract is just a proxy contract, its implementation can be changed whenever circle decides to do so.
