Sometimes it may be difficult to face things that we don't believe are happening or could grow. Germany was one of the most intellectual countries in Europe and the hatred was tolerated until there was no recourse. They passed the point of no return with the Holocaust resulting. Germany was not a barbaric nation but they became deceived a little at a time. Any antisemitism is dangerous.
