It’s 2021 and I just bought a Thompson chain midsize in cranberry yap and it had 5 left in there website and I heard since church Bible publishing is going to be in Texas instead of Michigan they will only have what they have for Thompson chain and they won’t make them anymore due to zondervan taking over so kirkbride is going to be a collection edition for the Thompson chain it’s not the same with out kirkbride after being in business for over 100 years The quality of their bibles is wonderful and they will last for a long time I also have Thompson chain in brown iron calfskin and will have the cranberry yap Thompson chain and also cranberry non yap black letter turquoise edition from them very nice

Yeah they don't have any Art Gilt. It's just the gold or silver 👍

I wonder if CBP will be able to continue producing Thompsons now that Zondervan owns them? They still have quite a few left in calfskin it seems. But there buffalo leather ones are all sold out.

Do you think which CBP bible has the best paper quality? I just got my 230 but the paper quality is not so impressive.

I've never heard anyone say it's best, but lots of people criticizing it. I personally haven't had a problem with mine although I'm not writing in them.

Nice review! I have the CBP Black Water Buffalo Note Takers Bible. I love that Bible. I'm getting ready to order the CBP Black Water Buffalo Thompson Chain Reference Bible. The Black Water Buffalo cover is really thick and it's Calfskin leather lined. All of the Water Buffalo covers are made by AA Leathers.

I received mine a week or so ago, I ordered as soon as I saw the first review! :) I love it, the leather, the stitching, the liner, everything. I don't usually spend this amount on bibles, but I knew it would be a lifetime keeper. My hope is that this one stays in the family!

So now this Bible is $239 from CBP! How's that for a good deal? I can get a Schuyler Canterbury, in marbled mahogany calfskin, with full yap for less money than this CBP Bible!! That's absurd! The Schuyler is a legitimate premium Bible in every aspect of the word. Premium cover, premium paper, art gilt edges, premium ribbons, printed and bound by Royal Jongbloed, no corners cut in any way whatsoever for $235 with full yap. That's $4 less than the water buffalo CBP bible that has a very nice cover and that's about it. It does not have premium paper, not art gilt edges, not printed and bound in the Netherlands by Royal Jongbloed, not even the same level of Bible cover. Yet it costs more than a new Schuyler premium Bible! Someone has lost their way.
